Hi

Is it safe to leave this connected in the boot - the car is parked very closed to the garage with an outdoor cover.

Risk of hydrogen gas accumulating is a risk mentioned online.

Connecting it to the battery whilst it's in the car is the Ctek's very reason for being. I do exactly what you do in Mrs Scholesters Classic Mini as it resides outside of the garage and nothing has ignited/exploded yet.

Its the charging process of battery that can give off the gas.

Modern batteries are generally sealed units, I suspect even have to be, so I suspect its a precautionary note they have to put in the instructions?
