Hi Zingari,
I'm just looking through the history, the car covered just over 6k miles in the first 8 years with stamps and MOT's to back this up. Then it looks to have done 30 miles each year to the MOT station and back. There is one stamp in 2012 and another in 2017. So based on this are you suggesting that the car being in a collection and not driven should be serviced every year regardless? Even if it hasn't moved during the year?
I get the Porsche recommendation of you should have your car serviced every 12k or yearly, but being an engineer with a mechanical background this would seem a little over the top for a car that does 30 miles per year!
I would understand it if the car is being used on a regular basis, but most collectors that I see at many of the classic car shows around the U.K. trailer their cars to the MOT station and back and to and from the shows.
I also see classic cars at auctions that have not been to an MOT station or near a garage in years as they have been mothballed in a collection, these have been seen to fetch 6 figures.
Hopefully if I do decide to sell the car it won't be to a complete purist who can't see what's in front of him. The car speaks for itself and will be priced realistically with the history in mind.
Thanks again for your view, it has certainly made me think and also think about what a special car I have. Regardless of its history it's a belter of a 993 and now my pride and joy which should be at the NEC in November with any luck.
Cheers
