991.1 PRICING - ARE PRICES FIRMING?

Albachap said:
It's interesting looking at prices - also a dearth of early .1 vehicles around. My procrastination meant I missed a .1 Carrera 4 which I really should have acted on. There's definitely a lack of 4/4s around. I'm searching for a manual 4s but a .1 to match my budget. There was a much newer one from an OPC but I couldn't persuade Central Command to give me a budget extension :D

+ Agree re: availability. There is a lack of decent 991.1 examples around. If you find one with a good spec and low mileage, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger, even if it means going *slightly over budget.

Apparently £20k isn't 'over budget' it's 'absolutely different budget'

Who knew :dont know:

Ha ha ha. Made me lol.
Sounds like my conversation when I said how about getting a VW California to take kids out in at the weekend.
Mrs Sideways: 'won't you miss the 911?"
Me: 'no (confused face)"
Mrs Sideways: 'no, just no...."

In your position DRZ there's a case to be made that may not need the special man-maths spreadsheet, your C4S has had a good run holding its value, autumn/winter is coming, GT3 prices are easing, quite a bit of choice 👍
Done the deal and pick up a March 2018 GT3 tomorrow.

Great trade-in on the C4S and a super deal on the GT3. Still had to use the man-maths calculator, but all the numbers appear to work out.

looking forward to seeing the GT3 pictures please!!!

I'll shortly be selling my 991.1 2015 C2S with Sports Ex and Chrono etc. 38k miles. 2 year warranty left and just serviced.

I'll let you know how it goes.

It's in for a check tomorrow at Silverstone who are going to give me a price while sorting out a little niggle, it's also been offered to a specialist, who have already given me a price but if listed at their initial offer will be the cheapest of that year in the country.

I'll let you know the numbers shortly.

I'm pretty happy with the depreciation over the years though.

Even the cheapest 2015 991S available would be too rich for me but I'd very interested to hear those numbers.

Over the last few weeks I've viewed several 991s (3.4s and 3.8s) that could be bought for £55k and have concluded that for that money I'd have to have an 'S'.

Unfortunately none of the 'S' cars I've seen have been the right car for me so I'm left with the choice of stretching the budget a little or waiting a bit longer. In the current market the latter option is the decision I've made.

My most preferred option of a C4S for £55k still seems a long way away but in 12 months time .......... :dont know:

Just scanned over the white 991 S at Porsche Wilmslow, looked nice and seemed cheap, the colours right obviously, but 6 owners and 50k on the clock :nooo:
Every time I look at them they grow on me a bit more and don't seem that different to the 997 :thumb:

Well done for sticking to your budget T8, I was the same (for a change) having decided on a 991 over a higher-end 981 or 997 for similar money. OPC prices were out of range, but 911v had two well-speced/sensible mileage Carreras with Porsche warranties, both sold within days, one of them to me!

Therefore would have thought a C2S you'll want will come along within your budget, maybe not at OPC just yet though. I know of a nice one that will probably go up for that kind of money, but it's a manual. C4S not so easy, understandably more exclusive and pricey for a bit yet.

OPC cars are still well over budget but for the last month I had a deposit down on a sub-£55k C2S that fitted my requirements almost perfectly.

Colour combo = tick
PDK with paddles = tick
Sunroof delete = tick
Rear wiper delete = tick
Right wheels = tick

I negotiated a major service incl plugs and belts and had a 111 point inspection done at the same time. The supplying dealer agreed to put right everything that Porsche flagged up as needing doing to get an OPC warranty including replacement of 2 perfectly good but wrong N rating tyres. Their own warranty would have covered me for the requisite 90 days.

I first viewed the car in its pre-prepped state and sadly after 4 weeks they weren't able to get the bodywork up to a standard that I could accept.

I walked away - gutted - as I doubt I'll ever see one the same again.

After a couple of months of very intensive searching I'm convinced that an S that would fit the bill, without any compromises on mileage and/or history, would still cost nearer to £60k than £55k hence why I'm out of that market for a while yet.

I hope you'll enjoy your car and look forward to seeing it soon. :thumb:
