Been wanting one of these GT3s since as long as I can remember; fortunately six weeks ago all the stars aligned and I finally collected my very own GT3 (how good does that sound :) ), my 'real world' dream car and quite possibly my forever car.

It's a 2005 Comfort with a few extra goodies (MOTON, Nomex, Tequipment cage, front Alcon, Rennline engine mounts etc), and with air con and a stereo it's almost the perfect specs for my use (weekend/road trips/ few TDs per year).

Special thanks to m33ufo for allowing me time to complete the purchase, and the few 911uk members who had helped me behind the scenes (you know who you are).

Collection day:

The car had had its bonnet and bumper painted recently, and as this would most likely to be a keeper, I decided to have PPF installed. Works were carrried out by 'Paintguard' at Hampshire; I had the full front end, roof and the spoiler done. With PPF installed, the rear spoiler can now be fully functional as a picnic table.

To be continued...

Then last week I took the car on a road trip; ended up doing 1900 miles in 8 days. What better way to learn a new car than a loooooonnnnggggg drive?

Started off with a visit to Specialist Cars of Malton to do some window shopping, then to Yorkshire Moors then to Whitby.

Next day was the Pennines with a stop at Hartside cafe

Day 3 more Pennines, Kielder Forest Park and Scottish Borders

Day 4 was a rest day, so headed off to Holy Island and then to the Falkirk Wheel before meeting up a few others (including 911ukers Mark & Craig) in Larbert

Day 6 saw a few of us spending the day mucking about at Galloway Forest Park, and I let my friends have a drive in my car. Awesome day.

Day 7 & Day 8 went for a bit of detour before heading home

The car was of course superb in the trip (minus the splitter and a small section of undertray, lost somewhere in Scotland  :D ) I absolutely love it.

This brings us up to date.

Just had the car noise tested; came in at 100.8dB at 4500 rpm, so relatively track day friendly. I really want to visit Rockingham before it shuts, we shall see if my work schedule allows. But other than that, that's about it for 2018.

:)

Top stuff!

Will keep an eye out for you in Hampshire!

Awesome, my goal as well is a MK2 996 GT3. Just a perfect blend of everything you want in a 911.

Thanks pal, as said it's my real world dream car. I must have watched Tiff Needell's and Richard Hammond's Top Gear clips hundreds of times, and read all the reviews and group tests ever printed!

Congrats on your GT3. That used to be Stroller's steed in the past. I've had pax laps in that at a soggy Castle Coombe. You have a good one there

Great looking road trip, awesome roads up there.

Great GT3. The colour looks beautiful. I'm glad your enjoying driving her and not stop in the garage.

Nice car... a red GT3 is a super thing, Guards really suits the car.

Definitely a potential forever car that, congratulations.

Was an excellent weekend mate, thanks for letting Mark and myself tag along.

It put Marks car through its paces pretty well....

Thanks for the Passenger ride !! was a lot of fun !!

Until next time, Take it easy mate !!! :thumb:

Yep, cracking weekend had by us.

Your new car is a cracker matey. As if I didn't miss my GT3 enough already. :D

Some great pics there. Glad you went home via Ribblehead. Good picture.

Great to meet you lads and see your cars. Marvs amethyst 968CS is a cool old thing too.
Have you got the car washed yet? Mine has just sat in the garage all week. I'll have to wash it on Monday.

Bye for now. :thumb:

Looks amazing :worship:
I too want to own a GT3 one day
Congrats and hope it brings you many happy years of 911 ownership

Thanks chaps.

My friend took a couple of short clips whilst in Scotland.....

We were next to a Visitor Centre so I wasn't trying too hard and risk getting an ASBO

I couldn't find the 'bumpy road mode' button
