So.............

I'm thinking about selling my 996 Carrera for the second time (long story but I have owned it twice after a 997 4s didn't measure up so I sold it and bought this 996 back!!)

I haven't been keeping abreast of values and this one is a bit difficult to gauge for me so I would welcome your views on sensible asking price please.

Its a 2002 996.2 in black with black interior. PSE, Sunroof delete, Cruise I bought it on 83K from here in 2014 and it now has 143K on it!

Before I owned it it had a full Hartech re-build (at about 50K)

While I have had it I have done / had done loads of stuff to keep it in top mechanical condition including but not limited too:

Full suspension re-build including an M033 kit, new coffin arms all round and new tuning forks
Genuine 997 short shift kit
Rear wheel bearings (about 8K ago)
New AOS about (6K ago)
Clutch & flywheel (about 10K ago)
New Sebro disks & Textar pads all round (about 2K ago) front disks are slotted upgraded version
Water pump (when I got it)
997 Sport seats fitted (I still have originals which can go back in)
wheel re-trimmed by Jack at Royal
Wheels re-furbished 1K ago with new rear tyres at same time (fronts less than half worn)

Has a FSH, initially Porsche, then specialist then me with all receipts kept and services recorded in book

when it has needed anything more than servicing it goes to Christian!

Overall condition is a good 7 out of 10, the leading edges of the wings behind the front wheels need a bit of paint (gravel rash) and there are some marks commensurate with age & mileage and the fact it has been my daily driver for the 3 years I have had it (I didn't own it for a year between Dec 2015 and Dec 2016)

So.... what's it worth?! Not desperate to sell but have pretty much made the decision to move on so also need to be realistic!

May thanks

Tom

£14k-£17k.

It's had some good work done but the bottom line is it's a 7/10 car with 143k on it. Combined with prices seemingly slowing if not dropping and summer almost a distant memory im going in hard at £13k.

^^^ I agree.

Many people simply won't see past the mileage, which is a shame as it sounds pretty thoroughly sorted bar the minor cosmetics, which is to be expected.

Good luck with the sale anyway. :thumb:

glad I asked! Even the lower valuation is a bit more than I had thought! Any suggestions how best to sell? I assume here first with plenty of pics?

Here is deffo the 1st option as you're likely to not get messed about. If you list on eBay, do it as a classified ad otherwise you'll get some right bellboys annoying you.

Another favourite these days is on facebook. There's various Porsche buy/sell pages and its free to list......and usually only seen by people wanting Porsche.
