997.1 Turbo with recent major service and OPC warranty

GLWS T8

Are you going to be able to cope with less than 400HP?

Wait another 12 months and get into a 991 Turbo.

Life without a woosh will never be the same again. :nooo:

My daily has only got 385 so I'm quite used to bimbling around.:) The extra 10 at the weekend will be enough, especially in a smaller, lighter car.

The 991 Turbo has never been on my radar but if it meant I could get one within my £55k budget I'd definitely wait another year to change.

Terry, have you had any interest in your car?

Only from 'the trade'.

I do want to sell the car but fortunately I don't need to - even if the right replacement comes along - so I'm happy to wait for an offer somewhere between 'trade' and 'retail'.

Sadly the market is very slow at the moment but I don't think my asking price is over-the-top.

This is a private sale but part-exchange and finance facilities can be arranged.

pm me for details.

On the basis that I haven't found anything else under £50k to match this car I have to give fair warning that this may be your last chance to buy it.

Merry Christmas :santa:

I'm really surprised this hasn't been snapped up.

Looks like a bargain to me. GLWS.

It's a lovely motor, but two gearbox changes?! Is this normal behaviour for tiptronic units?

The original was showing signs of oil misting around the join with the engine. It wasn't dripping oil but was replaced under warranty.

The second one showed similar signs but much sooner , possibly due to the first replacement not being fitted correctly.

If the car wasn't under warranty I wouldn't have bothered getting the first one fixed. I doubt that it would have got much worse but if it had apparently 9e can supply a heavier duty gasket for about £1600.

Apparently it's a known issue, normally at about 8-10 years old and I suspect that many are running around with dirty patches around the engine/gearbox joint.

For the record, the action of the gearbox was never affected and I didn't notice any difference with either replacement.

The bottom line is that the current gearbox has only done 13k miles.
