I had a similar dilemma when I found exactly the 996 C4S I wanted - it ticked literally every single box for me - except for one: it was a tip.
I racked my brain for days and spent time here on the forums reading about and discussing the various pros and cons, looking into technical specs, shift times, potential modifications, etc. I even rang a few specialists to see what they thought. Long story short: I drove myself nuts.
In the end, what was a small doubt about the tiptronic box became progressively bigger and I eventually walked away.
Do I regret it? Honestly, I do.
Yes, I enjoy a manual because of the 'feel' of connection and not outright performance and I like the sensation of shifting gear.
Because that was back in 2017 and I still haven't found the right car since then. I could have been driving around in a lapis blue C4S with natural brown leather and enjoying the sound of the PSE in that time.
My advice then, for what it's worth, would be to take the opportunity when it comes your way. For 7k, I would. And you can always sell it again in a year and probably not loose that much. But even if owes you, say, 3-4k in that time in money lost or work done, that's a small price to pay to drive a turbo, a proper supercar, for a year.
