Does anyone have a 100% standard 997.1 GT3?
What colour are the backs of the brake pads, please?
Yellow on the front?
Black on the back?
Cheers

That's got to be one of the weirdest questions EVER!!!

Okay, I should have clarified!
Mine had JZM/Alcons and RS29s on the front. I've put them back to standard because I want to put it under Porsche extended warranty until it is 15 years old.
The rear discs are definitely Porsche, but the pads are painted yellow. They're probably RS29s too, but Porsche do paint genuine OEM pads yellow - eg the fronts!
I'm just curious to know (without taking the pads outs) whether my yellow painted rear bads are OEM Porsche or RS29s!

That's how my car came yellow fronts, black rears

Thanks, Cunno
That's what my specialist thought but wasn't 100% certain.
So the rears must be RS29s and will have to be replaced.

Or a can of black spray paint

Ha! According to the specialist (who I tend to believe), RS29s on the rear and OEM on the front causes the ABS to go into meltdown!

On my Gen 2 both front and back were yellow from the OPC and I am fairly sure that it is the same rear calliper as the Gen 1? There is more than one OE pad compound too, so I really don't think that you are going to have any issues - unless they are blue (such as Pagid RS4-2 or Endless) then you really can't tell whether OE or aftermarket Pagid when they are installed (Pagid are the OEM for at least one compound of GT3 pads so they really are physically the same shape, size and shade of yellow).

Thanks, Colin.
I'll ask them to double-check what's fitted already before changing. They're going to give me back the parts they take off, but it would be nice to keep the OPC bill down (specialist is 1/3 labour cost).
