Can anyone help me understand wheel fitments!

I'm trying to reunite my 964 C4 Cab with the same gold-lattice BBS wheels that the supplying dealer fitted in 1990.

I've got an opportunity to buy a set with the following fitment:

7.5X16 ET 54.5
9X16 ET 49

My question is: will they fit?

I understand the factory fit was 17x7 ET 55 and 17x8 ET55.

The backstory is that a wheel builder found the right lips, barrels, and centers to make a BBS wheel that matches those specifications...

Fronts will be fine and you may even add a spacer if you fancy a little more track/stance.
Rears should also be fine providing you don't fit ultra wide tyres. Lots of 964's run 9jx17" ET55 993 Rims and the ones you mention would only sit 6mm further out.

The fronts will extend out 6mm
Rears will extend 19mm

Run a plumb line down from the inner lip of the arch and measure the distance between the wheel lip and arch lip to see if you have clearance.
