Redline are very good company, I would have no hesitation in buying from them. They set up my car and to have a company with multiple Porsche Cup wins set a car you know it's going to be right. They are both thorough and reasonable. Darren in the worksop is a top bloke.

As are Specialist Cars, John was very generous to us when I asked if he would mind opening up on a Sunday morning for NE group day out. He did, and they supplied ample and bacon sandwiches, coffee and cake. If they are prepared to go above and beyond for nothing I'm sure if I are a customer (I'm not) they would look after me.

I pointed my nephew in the direction of Alexanders for a Black Edition 91. His first venture into a Porsche and they looked after him very well. He could have sold it a year later for what he paid for it.

If you stick to the big players with good reputations you won't go far wrong.

It can be a bit confusing as there is Redline Specialist cars in Knaresborough who always have an impressive stock of used cars, including many in the 'super' bracket. I have always found them most helpful and professional with a good reputation. There is also Redline racing in Thornaby, which is the local Indy of choice in Teesside, not least because you take your car there and get to spend time looking round their race preparation workshop. I do not think the two businesses are connected.

There are some good people to deal with in Yorkshire, as there are elsewhere.

Speaking as a native Yorkshireman, i'll say there are good and bad everywhere. If you go into the marketplace expecting 9/10 to be scandalous con-men then you won't go far wrong. That goes for whether you're looking in London, Essex, Yorkshire, Glasgow etc.

Redline Racing in Thornaby has no connection to Redline in Yorkshire. I'd beg to differ on them being the Indy of choice in this neck of the woods though. I find Nelson's in Stockton better.

Just my 2p.

As others have said the larger the dealership the more cherished their reputation is guarded, mind you with a Turbo there's not a huge amount that goes wrong with them, especially if they've been regularly serviced.

I looked at a very similar car last year before I bought mine, I don't 'think' it's the same car but not sure. As it's not on their web site I can't see what price they're asking for it but I would have guessed it's not far off £80k?

As it's an 'S' it'll have PCCB's so if your getting a warranty make sure it includes them as they're rather expensive if they're cracked, very rare that they are but well worth ensuring that they're not.

Another dealer near Redline is GC Motors on the outskirts of Harrogate, they had two turbo's in and I see one is still there, the Grey one.

Another thing is check the MOT history on the DVLA site, I just tried to and the number wouldn't come up for some reason, strange!

It could just be that it's only just returned to its original Reg' No. Sometimes if a cars been MOT'd previous on a private plate it takes a while for the DVLA system to catch up.

I tried two other DVLA linked sites and it came up but 'the' DVLA site it didn't.

They are connected, it's the same company although the racing arm operates from Thornaby and only offers service/maintenance facilities for Porsche cars.

I was told differently a few years ago. They were business partners when the company was set up, however split up years later and went their own ways.

Full Porsche Service history (4sevices)
There's no Porsche warranty to transfer so will definitely check out what they are offering warranty wise.
On paper the only thing letting it down is the fact it has had six owners.
I know this shouldn't be an issue as long as it's been cared for by all of these owners!
£78k is that about the right kind of money?

It's just come off a private plate.
I've checked the old mots out on the DVLA website using the old plate and it all seems good.
The warranty that redline offer (free of charge) is limited to £500 like previously posted. So at least the cup holder will be coveredðŸ˜©There are other warranty options that they offer that they say are better value than the official Porsche warranty. ? I will have to see what they have to say tomorrow.
Hopefully it's all good and by this time tomorrow it will be sitting in my garage!!
