MPL Clutch Slave Cylinder

I am aware this has been the subject of a previous thread but I would be interested to know if anyone has fitted the MPL cylinder using all new parts from an OEM unit rather than swopping the bits over from the old OEM part.

I understand some specialist garages had issues with the MPL replacement but I am thinking could this be the fault of re using the old bits in the new MPL cylinder?

I have the opportunity to fit a MPL using all new bits from an OEM unit, hence the question.
I know some might say if you have a new OEM part why not just fit that but my reason is to have the benefit of a lighter pedal.

Has anyone gone this route?

Simply answered, Yes. I also fitted a remote bleed. I can't understand why there would be a problem though the important bits are already there. I manged to get an OEM slave cheap otherwise I wouldn,t have done it. It's a sod of a job to fit and bleed. I dropped the engine a bit but you're half blind working against the return spring. A good tip is to use some fine bore brass tube over the studs.,fit one nut, remove opposite sleeve fit that nut then go back to the other side. There is a write up somewhere in the ether.

Thank you for the info and picture Endoman

And are you happy with it ?

It's well worth it for town driving. I fitted one to my Ducati for the same reason.

I found a massive difference just by replacing my tired slave and master, you should have seen the black gunk that was in the fluid....obviously not changed from new!!
Now I have a very smooth and much lighter clutch pedal, as intended by Porsche. To me, it doesn't feel at all heavy!

I've just gone for this approach so will see as been in two minds over the MPL solution. If I ever get my car back I will report back here!!!

Endoman, I like the idea of your bleed extension, IIRC you had this made up by some outfit?, easy enough to replicate if i wanted to order one?.

Cheers
