No cold air from my aircon, any suggestions ?

This OEM condenser was on a 68k car, versus the new Tameside Radiator for £80/pair! Also replaced the Schrader valves on the High and Low fill vents.
Now have 6 degree air blowing out the cabin vents! Oh and grilles are fitted in the front now.

@ Tobyone .. the noise is due to low gass .. a smallish leak .. lets say 950 full .. noisy about 750 - 400 .. then pretty quiet as it stops working :)

Not actual figures .. my guesstimate !

pipes at the o/s/r in front of the wheel im thinking .. or have a look at the condensors .. small black oily spots are leaks but usually minor.

You will also loose a certain amount of gass per year as standard .. 10% i think .. might be a bit higher .

@ Mikey P

Theres more than gass to stop an a/c from operateing im afraid ..

you need to have a garage or your good self put a tester on it and look at actual values for the a/c sensors ..

i suspect you have an internal temp sensor fault .

ie .. if the sensor says the car is at - 10 then its not going to blow cold air as it thinks the car is cold enough already !

Like wise the outside temp sensor .

A/c leaks are there engine running or not .. the high side will have 10 bar plus so the main area for leaks but if operateing the low side will have 2 bar .. higher if its not so you will still get leaks .

Ie after a regass then both are at 5 bar .. when operateing you get 10 bar plus high side and 2 bar lowside.

Thanks for advice after closer inspection I think the compressor is not turning on, (although engine revs changed, the middle part of pully doesn't move. I have removed the relay for Aircon and no change. Would it be wishful thinking to think it might only be the relay at fault rather than needing a whole compressor? Can't get hold.of any Aircon specialists to take a look. The temp sensor in the car below vents can this be tested in any way?

A/c wont switch on if a sensor is faulty .. the compressor wont engage as you have already noticed .

You cant test them with out a tester connected .. well not actually true you could check the resistance of the sensors but i have no idea what it should be im afraid.

Only thing you might want to try .. the dash far left has a round circle trim .. this pulls out and the interior temp sensor is behind it .. give it a good blow to remove any dust.

Other than that a tester to check the various values is all i can recomend.

Any indy .. or anyone with a tester can check the a/c sensor values.

Yeah thanks again, have already had sensor out and cleaned it looked at it, as you say although I can put a meter across don't know what values I am looking for though. Hopefully have an Aircon specialist coming to look at it next week.

The air compressor will not come on if your low on gas so not to damage the system (so I understand).

If it's not been gassed for years and as stated above will loose 10-15% per year have it re gassed (this should re engage the compressor) and then start looking for leaks...

Just a thought.

Halfords do a regas now.

However, i always take mine and all my previous 911's to a specialist radiator firm who just dealwith car radiators only. They know exactly how to fix, repair and ragas if needed

Nice information guys 🤘

My aircin is working fine, new condensors however I have a tiny drip on the pipe connection N/S/R on the big pipe.

Is there a o ring in there or will I need a new pipe?

Yes the connections have O rings 10,6x2 and 17x2 are the most prolific sizes in the AC pipes joints
