Agree I had the same experience! I even put shell in my mini d and it runs far better!! Wife used to put Tesco in the disco, I made her try shell for a month and even she agrees it runs better.

Not true. Momentum has twice the ethanol of v power or ultimate, its cheap way of getting the octane rating. V power has a better base, and uses some ethanol, plus
Toluene Xylene and Trimethylbenzene octane boosters. It has a much higher overall energy density
But the quality control is the main reason. You are playing russian roulette every time you put supermarket ***** in your car

I don't know who told you this ? I work on an oil refinery and we only have one tank of high octane motor spirit. There is no ethanol in super . It is only added to normal motor spirit as a octane booster.
gazbo666 said:The only difference is the additives that are added when the Tankers are loaded. This is a very small amount. I would say the problems people have suffered is more to do with either cross contamination at the petrol station or poor cleanliness of their tanks.
I holed a piston on one of my Lambrettas many years ago leaving Skegness. I found on later there was numerous people who had the same from the same station. I always put this down to water in the fuel or the underground tank being emptied more than normal. Due to it being extremely nice weather so that people were queuing for fuel. This may have stirred up sediment in the holding tank. Which I was lucky enough to put in my scooter. Which most probably blocked the jet in the carb that caused the hole in the piston. This is all superstition though.
