So I've just bought a tastfully (IMO) modified 996 Targa,

Does anyone know the car?

Fingers crossed and touching wood that it's a good one.

Hoping to collect it at weekend and take it to the 'ring and Spa in the summer

Adam

:welcome:

This is the one that was Cat B written off.

Had a major crash at the 'Ring and there was a massive PH thread about it.

Previous owner was Phil997 on here...he will be along to tell you about the cheap/poor repair issues he had. Paid top money but car was still bent.

He sent it to auction I think... :dont know:

Glad to see her back on the road and well :thumb:

Hmm, its not to late to swerve so Should I back out?

I was told it was a cat D and not the story I have.

It's a beautiful car in my opinion, I did want a 98/99 C2 manual until this came up, Maybe I should wait..

NOOOOOOOO

I was just pulling your leg, in a funny mood tonight, sorry :wack:

I am sure the car is fine BUT if it is Cat D then does he have pictures/evidence of why it was? And who repaired it/what was the issue :dont know:

Apologies again if I worried you...you'll get used to my weird sense of humour

I'm trying to go off for a drive, can't seem to pull myself away, may end up as a midnight one :thumb:

Welcome!

Looks great to me, I like the 997 style mods.

HSC your so bad. even had me worried I was getting old and forgetting things.

Adam can you have a look in the glove box is there a used pr of ladies knickers with property of AiB written on them, if not then I have never been near that car :floor: :floor:
having said that the numberplate is a coincidence is it yours or did it come with the car.

Nice 997 facelift on it, and someone has evjoyed it with the yellow seatbelts and 12 oclock band. do get it checked out before before you buy it and if its all good then enjoy . and welcome to the forum its good that your already getting banter hopefully you will contribute to the furum and give some banter back mate. and if you have any purchase questions this is the right place to get advise .
HSC is just excited as he's just got his turbo back after 2 years   :thumb:

Thanks... you've had me searching for all sorts...

I got told a light front end - not structural, as per cat D and that's why its had a facelift. Current owner has done a few bits to it

Was apparently bought new by a British soldier in Germany - hence me worrying about the big crash at the 'ring, and spec'ed with no PSM

Adam , what area of the country are you , get along to some meets and have a look in the meets section on here got Simply Porsche early summer :thumb: :thumb:

HSC you rotten sod.

Welcome 500.

It's not exactly to my tastes but I'm getting old.
As long as you like it and like you say, it isn't offensive. I like the interior with the yellow accents.

Just check it out well, these cars can bite you hard if you buy a wrong'un, mainly mechanically.

Good luck though. Plenty of info on here if you get stuck with anything. :thumb:

PS You'll get used to the wind ups too. :D

Sorry mate :wack:

I like the styling, rear wing looks 8)

Do you have a link to the advert :dont know:

Wheels are great too, sport seats, yellow belts

Hope it works out for you

:hand:

He had me worried!

The plate will be staying with the previous owner, I'll be putting my dodgy one on it..

I will hopefully be joining in with the banter soon enough

I'll check it over before I hand over the balance, I grew up in the motor trade, the only thing I cant do is a borescope before I buy. no weeps from the RMS Ive been told.

Not sure on the wing, advert is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-...%2FwSJ7E4faLrIxJIJBeI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I'm in Manchester

Welcome to the friendliest forum on the internet* (ignoring you know who for a minute)

Just seen the advert - that is a lot of car for the money and seems to have had a great deal spent on it (love those hardback seats). Not one for purists but a terrific car you should be proud of

*that feature 996's

Adam, plenty of members around Manchester area for meets, they specialise in the northern tradition of Liquid breakfast meets

just had a look at the ad , some nice mods ,like the rear bumper the kick plates must have been specially made someone has really enjoyed that car and had fun adding a few personalised bits . as you have already said it will make the purests sandals and socks curl but those of us that like modding and personalising will appreciate it. hope it all checks out and you buy it and enjoy it , sounds like your aware of the things to look out for that can happen to a small % of these cars. just do your due dilligance to try and make sure your not one of that small % :thumb: :thumb:

ps you can keep the property of AiB ladies knickers if you find them

Morning, me again :p

Just had a look at the advert, the wheels don't look genuine Porsche to me.

If they are not, happy to send you pics of what they should look like, then that might get you a bit of cash off the price :dont know:
