Hi All

A section of my underbody covers has given up the ghost after driving through a flood

Part number is 99650412901 - the section under the engine. OPC are quoting £100ish. No problem with that but it that they best way to go?

Yep. Some of the specialist breakers like Douglas valley or 9apart will have good second hand ones about half list price plus vat. Sometimes porsche will give you a small discount off the list price, OPC Chester are not the greatest but if you ask they have been known to..

Thanks for that!

Ordered from Chester OPC this morning - will be in Wednesday.

Mentioned 911UK and got 10% discount so a pleasant transaction.

So I finally get the car into the workshop to fit this rear undertray along with my new shiny exhaust silencers.

I get a call an hour later to tell me that the rear undertray is fitted, but I'm missing the front one also.

Did whoever does your servicing not mention the front under tray is missing or was it self-diagnosis that only the rear was needed?

I guess if they have the front in stock, they can fit it whilst its up on the ramp.
Otherwise another order and booking to have the front one fitted.

Frustrating for sure.

if you have some ramps to drive up on it will take you about 4 minutes to fit a new front under tray.

Various under trays on mine were cracked and missing chunks etc. par for the course on an old car so I have been slowly replacing them as I see them cheap on eBay etc.

Now mine is complete again!

Mine's missing the rear (Gearbox) tray but they don't seem to come up too often. Didn't know it was missing till an OPC check pointed it out!

Anyone got a decent spare for sale?

Nah - all self-diagnosis. The rear piece was scraping on the floor when I noticed it. Ordered a new one etc. and put it on the list of jobs for the workshop. Didn't think to check the other pieces!

I had a piece of undertray missing (think it was front air duct) and it took 6 services (6 years!!) before the OPC noticed!!

I got mine from douglas valley breakers by post in the end for half the OPC cost. It was mint.

When looking to buy genuine new parts I think Bell & Colvill are worth checking.
They have a good web site with PET diagrams and part numbers which are linked to the new versions if they've been updated.
They're also almost always a good bit less money than D911 and most times also less than OPC.
In this case the part mentioned is £65 plus vat.

Great tip - just had a look at a few comparisons and they are a lot cheaper than d911

Thanks,
coincidentally I did look there after Demort brought the site to our attention. B&C are also quite close to where I live although I do tend to use our OPC too as they are often cheaper than D911 and I want to encourage Porsche to keep supporting us with parts availablity.
