Thinking of a F360

Thank you all for your advice and comments.

I managed to get test drive a 430 and it was fab, the noise the sensation. I was mulling it over, but it meant that I would have to sell the 996tt X50.

However, I also drove a friends Nissan GTR for the day (London to Birmingham and back) and it took my breath away. It was a standard 2011 530bhp in blue. The way it accelerated, braked and took corners was astounding. I really had to reel myself in (friends car and all), but it kept telling to push and push.

There was no doubt that it would destroy a 430 in a heartbeat. You could also add another 120bhp (to 650bhp) for not a lot of cash. My friend had his for 4 years and takes it to track two or three times a year and finds it very reliable.

I am now saving all my pennies and hoping to get one in six months.

That's a great car. The only thing is it isn't a Ferrari! Right now prices for Ferrari 360 have 'softened' in the last 12 months giving you an opportunity to get a Ferrari. Ferrari controls the market for new cars that helps residuals over the years. No idea about a GTR though.

Two very different cars. Each with a uniqueness of its own.

Let us know when you get the GTR. Johhnydangerouse on here has one but I don't think he is contactable by PM.

Its always been a dream to one day own a Ferrari, every time I get near there just that bit to far away to afford, enjoyed the reading the thread.
Maybe one day will cash my pension in for one :thumb:

You don't need to wait to cash in a pension. Prices have softened in the last 12 months. Sellers who are realistic with prices will sell their car quickly. Prices may soften further - but that's a gaze into a crystal ball.

The market is very different than Porsche - fewer cars, priced such that they cannot be bought by guys who have a Fiesta or Mondeo budget but not the funds to service to schedule. Still Ferrari cars need an inspection and best purchased from a specialist that knows the marque.

Join the Ferrari forum on PH's to get the lowdown on sourcing and ownership costs. The sound of the V8 as it hits 7.5k and then crackles and pops on the over-run are intoxicating.
