So after two weeks I've made my first two changes/tweaks.

Trying not to change too much too early and enjoy the car for what it is.

First thing was to get my plate on. It makes such a difference to the attachment i have with new cars. They only really feel like 'mine' when the plate goes on

Then it was time get naked and lose the rear badge. I've seen a few pics on here of de-badged cars and I think they look great. when I get bored I think i will add the more modern "P O R S C H E" badge?

I think it looks great

cheers chap.

feels good to make a few tweaks so it starts to feel like it's mine.

cold air induction and BMC filter hopefully next.

then maybe some red carpet mats but struggling to find nice ones :(

I can relate to the plate comment

I was thinking it was going to be B9 BOY though

Ha ha. Periodically look for B9 BOY to see if it ever appears. Sadly My Alpina B9 is a 1983 so cant even put it on the car the 'nickname' came from...

Picked up my Cabriolet on Friday and like you, I can't wait to get my number plate on it as it doesn't feel right without it.

I've ordered a chrome Porsche badge and will post pics as soon as its installed.

Which P O R S C H E badge did you go for - got a link?

Thanks

I wonder if I am alone in detesting the crass "P O R S C H E" badging on the newer cars? Honestly it seems childish and "shouty" in a CAPITALS text speak fashion and frankly so unnecessary and everybody knows it is a Porsche, so why???
:dont know:

Flame suit zipped up :D

By the way, congratulations on you new motor, I love the colour

On my old car i put the whole 991 set on.

But this time I think I'll just stick to the PORSCHE, as I think it will look too busy on a cabriolet.

I've brought a set from ebay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Genu...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Here's the measurements for the full 991 set if you need them.
=================================
Apparently, the important bit is to keep the badge in line with the slightly curved edge of the spoiler and not to fit them straight.

The Porsche 'S' is in the centre of the boot, and each letter is 80mm from left edge to left edge etc.

The start of the letter 'a' in Carrera is in the centre, then measure the distance from the centre to the end of the word 'Carrera' and mark the other side for the start of the '9'.
The top right edge of the '9' is vertical to the bottom left of the '1', and the same goes for the other '1' but add 2mm.

For me the porsche script its a link to the heritage, and not something new. Anyway 911's have always been a bit "shouty". Bright colours with large stickers and PSE - Subtle they are not.

   WOT me shouty and childish noooo never, I cant believe you can say such a thing about me :floor: :floor:

Well it has to be better than using the Spanish word for Race on a German car in a nasty matt grey finish just to prove how dated the car is   :thumb:

Not into older Porsches so not twigged the throwback to the old badging; makes more sense now. Still I do think it looks OTT and shouty in modern "TXT speak" terms. Certainly I am not shy of a shouty colour
