Service question - Kent based - OPC or Mr 911?

Hi knowledgeable people - almost time for my first 996 MOT and as it's history has but one advisory only noted, I am hoping to keep it that way and have a pre-MOT inspection / service beforehand. I normally wouldn't really consider an OPC but their fixed price deals actually look ok and Sidcup get excellent reviews. Mr 911 is fractionally cheaper and marginally closer - I know they are considered decent to deal with if buying but don't know of their rep for servicing (which seems to be through 911box). What would you do - OPC or independent (and in particular out of those two choices...)? Cheers.

Is Sevenoaks too far away?... other options Paul Deveya and La Rose worked on one of my cars in the past for a previous owner and seemed to do a decent job.

Sidcup OPC only opened four weeks ago so they haven't got a reputation yet.:)

That said they have got experienced Techs supplementing their own new recruits and their workshop facilities etc are brand new. They've also got their own MOT facilities on site.

I'd have no hesitation in taking my car there. :thumb:

I can't comment on Mr911.

Paul Devyea's servicing etc is actually done at Project Nine in Marden. I can recommend them and they've got an MOT station next door now.

Mines going there this year, I like to service it every year so none of this 2 year nonsense, and I hate to travel to far.

In the past I have used La Rose (early days and moved on!!) Autostrasse in Colchester for 8 years (brilliant but just to far now and local centres have popped up) OPC in Tonbridge (typical OPC) and FvrlOngers in Ashford (great with a personal touch but same price as OPC)

So ill give Project 9 ago :thumb:

A reputation would be over-stating it I agree, but they have more positive reviews from the last two weeks than many long-established "garages" - and some do actually relate to servicing and not just the undoubted car porn on show. So it seems they are doing something right, especially as the Great British motoring public do seem to like to take a pop at "stealers" whenever they can.

Sevenoaks is not too far away really - La Rose is a 30 minute drive, nor is Project 9 - it is a 45 minute drive. I enjoy any excuse for a drive, so could try one of those...

Anyway, thanks all for the helpful responses - I think I will start with the OPC at Sidcup and see what they say but if they are not as favourable on pricing as I hope then it may well be a trip to La Rose!

EDIT: Or Project 9 in fact, further away but something draws me to them slightly more...

Bickley - West Kingsdown is easy to get to for me. I assume you would reccomend him. Could you PM his details and any other relevant info, many thanks! Thanks.

Brooklands in swanley

Who's the guy in west kingsdown ?

Clive (Mr 911) is a thoroughly nice bloke and will give you fantastic, personal service if that's important to you. I'm guessing he uses 911 Box for servicing but always nice to have a dealer in your good books.

I called Sidcup for a quote - which was bizarrely high (even taking into account the fixed price deal officially ended in December 2017). As in 2.5x my expectation. So in the end - and based on the fact that they are as easy to get to as Project 9 for me - I booked in with 9excellence in Horley. They were not mentioned above but I am assuming that this is not a blunder I am likely to regret....
