Super sorted 987.1 Cayman S up for grabs thread...

Have had some news that a 2 seater may no longer be practical later on this year.

So very reluctantly, I will have to let my Cayman S go. It is super sorted, sourced by Tom at 911v and serviced by our very own inhouse mechanic, the car is a peach and has all the toys which makes it stand out from the rest.

My ownership thread:

http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=116411

Any questions please ask, given provenance, high standard of care afforded her and the options, has to be one of the best 987.1 S examples in the country. Sitting around 62k at the moment, so used enough to stave off some of the issues, but by no means tired.

Hope this doesn't break any forum rules, sure the MODs will let me know should I have trespassed.

Good luck with the sale Marty, it looks a great car, I'm sure it will have no problem finding a home when you choose to pull the trigger.

And best wishes for your other 'news' later in the year! :congrats:

Thanks, Rob. Not sure of timings yet, its taken me a few week to come to terms of losing my P&J. Really don't want to let her go, but she just won't get driven if she stays.

Appreciate your kind words!

p.s. have you revisited the other forum we frequent?

Congratulations young man :thumb:

Dam shame your moveing on from a Porsche .. perhaps ill see you again in a few years time :?:

BTW .. its an excellent car for anyone thats interested.

Marty the 997 has back seats mate   :thumb: :thumb:

Cheers, Gents.

Demort, you won't get ready of me that easily. I'll be back! And thanks for the swift review!

Phil, I am aware, the original reaction was to get a 996 which was perhaps a little tired inside so wedging a new family into it wouldn't be an excercise in sacrilege. Alas, my mate on here with a 997 thinks it's a no go as the main family car. He wedges bub and wifey into his once and a while but as the other half doesn't drive yet, if I am to ever use a nice car, it will be journies with the family to the south coast to see my dear Ma.

I've thought and thought about it, other than a gen1 Cayenne, I'm going on Porsche hiatus for a bit. When bub has become old enough to not need loads of stuff carried with, old enough to also sit without a chair in the back. Then it's time to look at the 911.

Young man ..

Carefull with a gen 1 Cayenne .. i want to check it out first if you are considering it .. even if i do it at home !!

Cayenne , Panamera .. macan .. all very good cars over all though .

Whilst we can work on other makes and do at times we dont have the experience that specialists have .. i would always recomend a specialist for the knowledge they have .

Which means it may be a few years till we meet again .. thats not so good .. but the news is :D

:congrats: on the reason for your situation.

Beware. I sold my first Porsche because a carrycot etc wouldn't fit in it. It was 22 years before I got my second one.

Iain, you're a true gent. It had crossed my mind to bring whatever I got next your way anyways! Most likely a Beamer or Audi. Appreciate your genius lies with Porsche though.

Terry - Don't put those nightmares in my head, I just undertook a regular 120m drive leaving at 10:30 for the sole reason that SWMBO wasn't in the car and I had no bike on the roof. The car is outstandingly, still can't quite believe it needs to go.

As that may well be the last truly solo ride in it, I put in a decent effort and got a PB, despite the state of the roads in Kent and Sussex.

22 years sounds horrific, I'll buy a ragged £5k Boxster before that happens.

Bump.

Anyone on here wanting a seriously sorted Cayman?

First couple of enquires have filtered through, would much rather the car went to an enthusiast on here.

I will whack it up on PH and AT in a month or twos time.

Proper ad now on PH

Link removed by moderator but it's the white 07 car up for £18,995 so can be easily found.

I've linked the 911UK ad in Boxa.net. Although obviously not a boxer they are enthusiasts who may be interested ;-)

You Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! Many thanks!

Writing the ad yesterday, did make me think hold onto it until this time next year and just take the hit that I will be driving a cr4ppy old Golf come the last quarter of this year.

Actually felt a little sick after putting the ad up on PH! I had sleepless nights over this car when I was trying to make her mine.
