The Modern classic car co

Use some care and dont trust what Mark one of the owners says, I bought a car from them it was advertised as having a stainless steel sports exaust fitted, it was not fitted waw with the car mark agreed to supply it with the car as it was adverised. He even confirmed that in an email and said that when I arranged for the car to be collected the exaust would be dispatched with it !!
Needless to say it was not, and as if that was bad enough he has not even the decency to answer the phone or respond to an email .
In most business dealings I find most people and companies even the car trade gets lots of bad press but on the whole all my dealings withe car dealers have be quite trustworthy and reputable, maybe i have just had the good fortune of dealing with reputable companies up till now, and maybe thats why The modern classic car co proved my theory wrong and to be honest that hurts more than the loss of an exaust woth £500.
Mark and the modern classic car company are witout doubt un trust worthy and considering they are selling quite expensive classic cars where you would expect a higher degree of integrity from the dealer especially if you are spending £50K with them you deserve honesty.
Although my dealing with them have been brief, considering the fact that they are prepared to lie as blatently as they did, over something so trivual as not suppling an exaust that was with already with the car, what else would they cut corners with ! Suffice is to say i supect most of there car adverts that are by the way very well written with much talk of 'beautifully presented", 'well cared for", 'exemplary service records" etc etc but are I suspect works largley of fiction
I would suggest avoid the modern classic car co and take your money elsewhere . And buy from hopefully a reputable dealer having checked these guys out I can confirm they are best avoided.

I have also dealt with them and they sold me an expensive porsche with a major fault and disappeared of the face of the earth when I tried to talk to them about the problem. I am now resorting to a solicitor to get my money back and this car I can't use off my drive. Avoid at all costs.

I'm another victim of this lot. Sold me an absolute polished turd with bent MOT and £5000 worth of remedial work just to get it roadworthy. The lowest, dishonest car dealer I've ever had the misfortune to stumble upon. Don't make my mistake and assume some integrity with these people. They are crooks. Their photography is great, their descriptions are fiction and their cars are cheap dogs.

I bought a Porsche 944T from Mark Heron, then trading as The Throttle Shop, it was advertised as immaculate show condition. I was stupid enough to buy the car without viewing and payed £14250 plus £75 delivery
Upon delivery I quickly found that the car was far from immaculate, it had several faults some potentially very serious, it would not start and refused to start throughout my 7 months of ownership, I later found out from a previous owner that the car was an
Insurance write off and it was clear that the car had been badly repaired.
Mark Heron refused to refund my money
I had an independent inspection and valuation carried out, I employed the services of a solicitor, all at a personal cost of over a £1000
Eventually after 7 months and the threat of legal action The Throttle Shop agreed to take the car back into stock and refunded me £12000
Unfortunately later I received a hand written letter from the current owner asking for information on the car and the seller Mark Heron, as he, just like me had bought the car unseen and had actually paid for the car before I received any money from Heron
With legal costs I lost over £3000 dealing with this crook but it could have been far worse

I too am having the same problems with this company, does anyone have a valid address for the dealership as all I can find is Killearn, Glasgow, no postcode. I do have his personnel house address if anyone wants it.

Same here, taking them to court also.
the address for Cleardaze Ltd is
Carbeth House
Killearn
Glasgow
G639QB
I believe this is where the parent business is registered and is where their accountants are situated.
I could do with other address if you have it. I purchased my car from an address in Buchlyvie, Stirlingshire.

The VAT address I have for Stephen Boag is;
Stephen Boag, 11 Culbowie Cres, Buchlyvie, Stirling,FK8 3NH
Vat no 222843718
I have sent a registered letter pertaining to The Consumer Rights Act 2015 to to this address and it was received and signed for by Stephen Boag.
The Modern Classic Car Company address from Ebay details when he was selling a 'Rolex" watch is;
25 Main Street, Killearn, Glasgow, G63 9NE.
The Modern Classic Car Company is the trading name of Cleardaze LTD. company number (SC499102) who's other or sole director is called Mark Heron. The registered address for this is Strathclyde, Carbeth House, Killearn, Glasgow, Scotland, G639QB. It doesn't come up on any Google maps.
I part exchanged my TVR Chimaera for a 2002 Porsche 996, has been on the road for only four days in the last month and have bills for £670 so far for new battery, ignition switch, shot radiator, faulty on board computer stalk and I still haven't got the final appraisal from my very well qualified motor engineer yet.Stephen Boag will not return any telephone calls and is now saying via emails there are all sorts of things wrong with the TVR. but is listed on his website and PistonHeads as being one of the best available. Will keep you all informed of any progress. Very, very angry and frustrated, won't say anymore at the moment for legal reasons.

Just got the Porsche back total bills £869.90 now, just to get the car running and back on the road after a month since purchase on 04/11/2016. Stephen Boag will not return any emails or return numerous telephone calls.
Work still to be done not described in his advert on Pistonheads;
1. Bad scrape under nearside front bumper, nor apparent until
looking underneath the vehicle.
2. Scratch on rear nearside wing.
3. Scratch above offside rear wheel arch.
4. Scratches on rear bumper (described by your self before purchase)
5. Faulty OBC stalk
6. Soft top not fitting correctly over drivers front and rear window, at least
4 mm gap which is leaking badly.

Bills now up to £890.00 and Stephen Boag will not reply to emails and numerous phone calls made, phoned his 'partner" Mark Heron on 07713 862081 he was very apologetic and said would get Stephen to phone me, nothing. He said they ran the business of 'The Modern Classic Car Company" with two bank accounts each were responsible for their own sales and that they were brothers but had different surnames. If you look on the their Pistonheads Classified page half the adds are in Stephen's name the other in Mark's.
Make of this what you will, I am more than happy to get together with any other dissatisfied customers and maybe together we can do something maybe on social media to highlight the practices of these two individuals
Stephen Boag is on facebook,
Mark Heron

It beggars belief that these two are still getting away with it, my dealings with them were last year April to November. In my case the car was definitely misrepresented when advertised as immaculate show condition. I felt it important to report them to trading standards and sent them the original advertisement and a copy of the independent inspection I also know that the current owner and indeed the previous owner of the car reported their dealings to trading standards
If you suspect the advertising of the car was misleading do the same Jon, trading standards may well sit up and take notice this time

Hi Robert, in the process of talking with Trading Standards but just keep getting referred to Citizens Advice (Scotland) and am told I would have to go through the Scottish Small Claims procedure Form 3A The Simple Procedure Form. Costs £100 just to start the thing and you have to have the correct address. These guys are so slippery it's hard to know which address to send it to. Did you get anywhere with Trading Standards?
It's also been suggested to me that Stephen Boag & Mark Heron might even be the same person, I couldn't possibly comment on that...
Cheers Jon.

Hi Jon, I didn't hear back from trading standards but the current owner of the car has had more luck, they paid for an inspection of the car and he has informed me that they are investigating Heron
The Porsche I bought from The Throttle Shop was in fact sold three times in succession by them, the first time the owner was able to return the vehicle due to a receipt he had that stated all cars were hpi clear (the car was written off in 1994) I was the 2nd buyer I lost £2250 plus legal fees. The 3rd buyer so far has been unsuccessful at returning the car and at present still has the Porsche
I too did hear that Boag and Heron are indeed the same person but I cannot confirm this
