So I’m not at home much lately due to work. I have got the option to purchase a new car through work at a very good price provided I act quickly. To do this I’ll need to sell my 996
She was bought as a little tidy up project but I’m just struggling to find the time. Nothing major - needs air con condensers maybe a bit of paint (especially on boot lid due to someone doing a poor job previously) headlights a bit foggy. Otherwise a very solid useable 996 in a great spec:
95k miles, replacement Porsche engine, aero kit, m030,cruise control, sat nav, hardback sport seats, telephone etc.
Some of you seem really up to date with prices, so my question is- what should I put it up for to get get a quick sale with above condition considered? I reckon with the above sorted and not in a rush I’d probably put it up for £14k?? Sound about right? How much should I drop by to get it sold within a month?

The year, owners and service history would help.

Evenin' Gixxer,
Sorry to see you go, but a new car is always exciting.
I'd just list it honestly and try it at £13995 for a week on eBay, P'heads and here and see if the phone rings.
After that maybe do an eBay auction. I'd be shocked if it didn't reach £12k+.
I can't remember everything about it though so if it's still on original suspension, water pump, etc and hasn't had a clutch in the last 40-50k miles then people will try and haggle.
I rate a good sorted Aerokit car at £16k plus. An absolutely sorted, enthusiast one would be £20k. It wouldn't be an easy sell but sensible people realise that a pretty sorted but not perfect £16k one will quickly become a £20k one and they'll have the hassle (or fun ) of doing it.
Good luck with the sale.
As above. Owners etc?
It is a C2 manual isn't it?

I don't know if yours is a 3.4 or not, but there was on here a few days looking for a very similar spec to your car.

Cheers mark,
Not gone yet and if this current deal does not happen I will definitely keep it for the foreseeable- just very tempted by a big v8 on offer!!
Del/ Mark -
In the last 3years & 10kmiles it’s had water pump/ thermostat/ coil packs/ spark plugs/ drive belt/ discs/pads & in the last 200miles it’s had clutch/ rms/ aos & trans mount.
Also worth mentioning that the genuine porsche replacement engine is of the later 3 chain design with largest non servicable ims bearing as found on the 997s.
My biggest problem at the mo is hardly ever being at home to accept viewings, but Will transfer my private plate off then list as Mark suggests on all the usual places and hope timing works out for the best.
I’ll look out for the one you mention MC 👍 Oh and - it’s a 98 3.4 manual in silver & 4 owners if memory serves correctly. Full service history porsche and porsche specialist.

Presumably a c2?
Should go relatively quickly if so, that's a desirable spec for an enthusiast and that work done would make me very happy to buy it _________________ 2004 996 Turbo

I’d say with the work that needs doing for a quick sale as per title its 10k .
12k for a slightly slower sale but sure it’s will still sell !
Once you’re up at 13 / 14k your competeing with a lot of 911s on the net some on the facelift shape ?! _________________ Current -

Thanks,
Yes it’s a c2. Writing this all down is making me doubt selling it!!
Don’t have any decent pics to hand, but this is it.
As soon as I’m home I’ll get the history out and write a proper advert.
As I look at all the usual places- prices seem to be all over the place!! And there really does appear to be a lot of rubbish out there too!! Gonna be tricky to price I think, as it’s far from mint but a great spec with decent mileage.

With that engine, spec, and work done it is worth well over £10k. I'd give you £10k for it tomorrow and I don't even need another 996. I would be starting at £14-15k.

I agree it’s well worth more , but getting it is sometimes another story !
I found when I sold my 996 c4 (for 10k )!! That even at that price it was a nightmare , it seemed the people it attracted has saved so hard to get the 10k together to buy the dream 911 that they wanted it to be like out of the showroom on day one and wanted to look and test drive all 40 on the trader before making the huge decision !!!
It was just very hard work ! _________________ Current -

A few more pics to give a better idea. I’m thinking below £13 I’ll keep it anything more I’d let it go. But if The new car falls through I have defo got the incentive to sort the small issues out.

Does it have a sunroof? If not that is a very desirable spec. Expect a few PMs from people trying to take it off your hands.

Yes does have a sunroof and forgot to mention factory LSD.
Looks better in the pics than real life as paint isn’t perfect.
Thanks for the feedback chaps👍

As a serial stalker of AT I would say that is a £14K car all day long.
£12K for quick sale. _________________ 2003 Manual 996 C4S Midnight Blue

Having just been trawling the market for a decent car, I would agree with the previous few comments that this is a £12-14k car. Looks great in the pics.
