Hi all

Does anyone have any first hand experience of car covers, both inside and outside storage. I've seen a few companies but wondered how people on here had got on.

Am looking for an outside one first up as the garage is full at mo!

I have a Stormforce cover - and I have used them for a while now -

Plus points - they fit well and are pretty easy to put on and off - the have ties under the car for extra security

Negative - they have a two year warranty and this is about the lifespan of the cover - weathering (wind and rain) does cause the outer layer to degrade

I guess in the long term you might be better off buying an more 'solid' expensive one, but it depends on how much wear it will get and how long you intend to keep the car

I use www.cover-zone.com indoor cover for mine. They are well made, fit nicely (including the whale tale) and are relatively good value. Had one for years for my 3.2 and now getting one for my 996.[/url]
 
I have an outside one from Specialisedcovers (stormsheild +).

Wanted something to cover the car whilst not in use (plus next to a pub so needed something making the car look discrete). Used it for 6months so far and very happy with it.

The pros:

* clean car when you take the cover off (see below)
* great quality, breathable and durable
* custom made for car (997 turbo aerokit)
* makes an otherwise bonkers looking car look unassuming

The cons:

* bit of a faff having to clean the car before putting the cover on (every time).
* some concerns about paint marring - I've noticed nothing because the car is clean before every use.
