911 plus a quality estate car for £5-8k; BMW, Mercedes or Audi
 
Easy.

997.2 (or 996 turbo) and lease whatever is cheapest for the family tasks.

Or an Aldi SQ5.....

Oooor a BMW 335d tourer.
 
Anyway back to my Qs, I have around 30-40k to spend what would you buy?

Nice little flat in Spain to get away from this s@@t weather!

You're making a lot of sense, Easternjets. That's my goal too. You'd need a bit more than 30-40k though but that's a good start.
