Anyone got any pictures of these wheels on there narrow bodied 996, just curious too see how they look.

The wheels I'm thinking about are titanium in colour against a silver car.

18 X 11 rear

18 X 8.5 front

I have the OZ HLT centre lock look ,a great quality wheel, I can recommend OZ wheels, and have completed several track days and a run to Germany with no issues :thumb:

Both these sets look good on their respective cars ...... nice change to the original S ....good mod , not blingy...

Love that blue Turbo .....!!!

Damn ...
Love that red GT3 too....!,,,,

I saw diverzeusy OZ up close when we went to dinslaken , They are seriously good looking wheels, and the centre lock look really complements them. :thumb: :thumb:

Thank you kind sir 👍

The 19" OZ wheels have a different design & the spokes spread the load across a wider cross-section than the 18" ones.

These were my 18" OZs after a few years of tracking (every single one of the spokes were the same - the cracks all developed over the space of a day or 2).

I strill have 3 sets of these wheels but they will be lifed from now on. Just pointing out that it's not all upside with light wheels; you are losing some of the ultimate strength that the heavy factory wheels have.

Wow
Hope you are correct regarding 19s been a little stronger Nick? however I have done 6 full day track sessions and have not noticed anything untoward.
Oh and I do drive, let's say, in a quite spirited fashion (terrifying myself at times!) So my wheels seam good😀👍
Thanks Paul

I have 2 sets of the 19" ones too & the design of spoke / rim interface is totally different.

I should also mention that those cracks only developed after several years of use with slicks which impose a bit more side load than is possible with road tyres, but even so, I think the inability of the wheel to deal with side loads over time is a weakness that users should be aware of. I think checking these wheels for cracks regularly is good practise.

Years ago, Disco clouted an Armco barrier at the 'ring wearing these wheels & broke every spoke on one front wheel. I used to have the picture but can't find it now.

I'm late to the party here, and it's not a 996... but it is narrow body and they are OZ Alleggerita...

I'd read about cracks on the Allegerita's on Rennlist but I didn't know it was just the 18s. So this is very helpful.

I'm a big fan of OZ Racing rims, and my brother and I run a combinationm of Ultraleggera, Superturismo and Leggera rims on four of our cars and we have never had an issue. We are no race team but we do visit the track and run semi slicks so they get some proper use.

I have had one off (in which I bent much of the suspension on one corner), but the Superturismo wasn't damaged at all, it ran straight and true in the damage assessment. It is a very tough wheel.
