Hello forum. How are you?

Have any of tried to plasti-dip on your wheels?

What are the risks? How long does it last? Does it look sh@t?

Thanks

Antony.

I have dipped the wheels on my other car and will do my 911 in the new year.

The trick is to prep the wheels properly before you start and then to build up the layers, with the first layer being fairly light (50% coverage) to help the Plasti dip bond nicely to the wheel surface. I did about 4 coats of Matt black then 3 or 4 coats of copper metalizer

I was actually very pleased with my first attempt. Unfortunately 2 months later I got a puncture and the tyre needed changing. Say goodbye to plastidip if that happens.

All in all I'd say it's well worth it to see what your wheels would look like before perhaps considering something more permanent.

If done properly it certainly doesn't look *****

Here are the plasti dips I did for a laugh this summer.

Plastidip

Tried them before but I used too much paint on the rims and eventually the Plastidip looked like it had a boil on the surface. Lol.
