Could someone word an email for me(random I know !)

Keep going mate your asking all the right questions , you will get there, and if these guys want to sell you a car they need to be realistic if they really are known for selling Porsches they will know we are fussy and have expectations and if they dont ,then they are not really known for selling Porsches :thumb:
can they supply you a copy of there checks they have done and the results ,I am very surprised if they know Porsches that they would expect borescore to be the first question asked and have already carried out the borescope .
The good news is despite being a 05 car the engine number shows it has the newer IMS so thats one less thing to be looking for and many will say its a bigger issue than borescore so a result its sorted.
Keep us posted. :thumb:

I'm a bit bored waiting for my girlfriend's flight to arrive and I think I've just found the car and dealer in question. Millsy, do they have three letters (not a word) as their name? If not, then ignore me but:

If they're selling all that heavy metal with warranties with £1000 claim limits then they truly are chancers indeed!!

Their autotrader reviews are also all worded very (suspiciously) similarly! They have only one review on cardealerreviews.co.uk which states "poor" and gives 1 star under "resolving issues".

A little digging shows they've been in business less than two years and they have net assets of under £7k which suggests they're running a very lean business indeed. With that little asset / cash, if anyone needed to pursue them aggressively, a business like that would likely fold (only to be phoenixed a month later).

Just want you to go in eyes wide open!

That said however, the car looks pretty sharp and fingers crossed it's a good 'un!

Of course, if is not the dealer, then I'm just waffling and hoping my girlfriend's bought me one of those huge Toblerones from the airport...

May be worth doing some research to find other customers who've bought from them - it's nice to hear "I bought a car from them and it's been great" but what separates the good from better (or bad) dealers is when things go wrong, so it can be comforting to hear "I bought a car from them and had issues which were resolved quickly and at no cost to me!"

Warrantywise don't have the best reputation, but to be fair all warranty companies have their fair share of disgruntled customers with failed claims.

Had a look on google. 5 star
Autotrader 5 star
The wife has looked on there FB page and again all 5 stars.

Think I'll give him a ring tomorrow and eee whilst they can offer me.

Get down there and have a look at the car in the metal.

Good luck bud.

Ok then chaps...new day etc so let's get straight to it ...

SQUELCH!!!!!
Did you or did you not get a tobelerone??!!??!!

You know that's all we care about

And yes that's the car mate.

I'll see if I can make any progress today or end up back to the search engines!!(when I was a lad it was called back to the drawing board!)

The warranty is a joke! Walk away and look for another car with a garage that offers a good warranty. £50/hr labour and £1000 limit per claim is a p!ss take.

Move on and start looking elsewhere.....

This.

I'd be looking closer to home and asking preferred indy's if they know of any good cars for sale.

Plus, unless its from the handful excellent garages known on here (911v/Stirlings/RSJ/JZM/Dovehouse) i'd be buying privately. The majority of used car sales are cowboys.

Just my experience. Last car I bought from a dealer ended in court...

Ditto what Ragpicker said!

Cheers, Keith :agree:

Asked him for info regarding service history and receipts for any other work carrier out.......

The history of the car is;
18k - 2007 - Porsche
28k - 2009 Porsche
41k - 2011 Porsche
49k - 2013 Porsche
56k - 2015 Porsche
62k - 2017 Porsche Specialist (our ownership)

As you can see the 911 has never missed a service which is great to see. I do not have any bills for any works (other than our service) as the owners tend to retain this for there own records but you can speak to Porsche direct to obtain these once proof of ownership is sent.

The last owner has owned it since 2008, again a rare sight in the Porsche world I am sure you would agree.

Now I think this is suspicious.
No receipts for ANY OTHER WORK!!

This is the car in question.

I've also told him it doesn't have BOSE, which he has confirmed but not changed the advert!

Think I'll keep on looking, shame as I love the car. Ticks all the boxes!

:wtf:

So it had full Porsche history until they bought it! Whilst many specialists do have great reputations, some could argue they've tainted it somewhat. Why would you do that?!?! I'd have thought they'd leave the service and give a prospective buyer the option of keeping full Porsche history.

TBF the car doesn't seem bad.

Not much of a dealer though, so you wouldnt want to be paying much of a dealer premium, and tell him not to waste money on the pointless warranty.

Forgot to add: I assume you've done the MOT history check (basic failures and advisories may give an indication of how conscientious the owner was).

An option would be (after the viewing and inspection etc) to haggle hard, tell them to ditch the warranty (as PeterS says) and buy your own warranty.

More importantly though - her indoors forgot my Toblerone!!!!
