I'm fancying a Beetle!.. Always liked them but never got around to owning one.
It would need to be a 60's model I think.I'm not too keen on the 70's variant.

Hi all

I've had my '70 westy for the last 11years, it's been running a corvair 2.7L aircooled flatsix for the last 3 years with modified heads to accept 34 ICT carbs, mated to a later 2L gearbox, and pulls very nicely

Here it is on the Isle of Harris

So it's not what most people think of when they think of a VW, but...

Oooh, I was going to ask if that's the big W12 thing :thumb:

Yup! I love it for the silliness of being a six litre, twelve-cylinder Volkswagen.

It's not a quick car (0-60 in about 5.9s) but it's incredibly smooth and once it gets going it keeps on pulling until you get to silly speeds.

The other nice thing is that when you come to a stop the engine is so quiet that a friend said he was surprised it had stop-start :D

Hi,

Here's a few of my son's '72 KG 1600.

We bought it when he was 16 as a project, basically it's practically all new from the waist down(apart from the lids) including all the mechanical bits, engine and gearbox rebuild (this year), fuel tank, brake system, etc., etc....

The interior has Porsche Recaros trimmed in 2-colour grey Alcantara with door cards & dash top to match with contrasting stitching.

Cheers,
Paul

My old Beetle, hence the user name
