I was just browsing ad's when I cam across this

https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2017-11-25/cars/ref-20-2003-porsche-991996-turbo/

Sounded like a bargain at £28k but reading further it seems it will bo sold at auction.
What concerned me was, reading the ad, to learn that early turbos, and I quote

'suffered from an intermittent shaft bearing failure however Porsche rectified this with the Mk. II or X50 and also revised engine control software, a power-upgrade to 450bhp and larger turbochargers'

Damit, I thought I'd avoided all that buy buying a Mezger, I knew I should have held out for an X50.

Sounds like bo!!ox to me but what do I know

I think that estimate is a bit high UNLESS it has the original rear lid/wheels and they fix the skew whiff exhaust

£25k hammer is my guestimate :judge:
