Previously I have been against car covers for external use. I have read so meany horror stores what can go wrong and can actually damage the paintwork.

However I was watching a video of a guy on YouTube who has a Ferrari 430 which he parks outside all the time. What he does is to cover car with 2 covers. A interior one first then an external waterproof and breathable one. Using the 1st one to protect the bodywork from the top external one which will move more due the weather.

Thinking this approach may well remove my initial concerns. However! The 911 has Xpel stone protection film fitted. Not sure if having a car cover will effect the film in anyway? When its sunny the car bodywork will get get hot from the sun which will heat the Xpel film and the interior car cover will be touching the film.

Has anyone experienced issues with stone protection film and car covers?
