Loving it mate, but in all honesty considering the difference in cost the gen1 is all you really need, not sure the gen2 gives you twice the car for twice the money if that makes sense. :thumb: Finn hows your gen2 search going :thumb:

I do like the thought of a gen2 but I am not sure if I can justify the uplift in cost on a weekend toy so I might stick with a gen1 for now then change up to a turbo one day. I am only looking again because I wrote my last one off! Plus I have headers, rrs engine mounts, 82mm tb and plenum and wheels spacers ready to bolt on to a gen1 sat in the garage and they only have a few miles on them.

You can get the BMC filter at Euro car parts at the moment for £52 if you use the mid month code on the site, hurry up.

Top work Finn!!!!!

Paid £51.83 inc post.

Thanks a lot £22 saved over cheapest eBay one.

Which model filter did you buy from ECP Daz?

Not this one I hope? https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/...9288ce4fbb2fc5e9ee430cdf2dfdd44cf58e2f&000008

You actually need the model below, for some reason ECP recommends the wrong filter, you will notice the different shape of the standard paper filter v the BMC one (i.e. not rectangular).

When I tried to order this from ECP it would not allow me to apply the discount code! :nooo:

Don't worry I think that is just a generic photo you should get the right filter

I noticed this old post before I ordered mine -

You could always phone ECP and ask them to swap the the part and see if they will honour the discount, could be a result!? :?:

I think thats a good call mate see if you can find a hartech car bolt the bits on and have a great weekend toy. :thumb:

I used the registration number off the car and it gave part number 909330071.

Which I assume is the wrong one according to you?

sorry if this is a daft question, but can i be clearer about what this mod achieves?

i'd quite like something that enhances the noise at low revs...is that what this does?

(my car has a switchable DesignTek mid section already but only really makes an impact above 3k revs)

Lots of detail here on the 996 section of the forum, same concept for the 997.

I checked the BMC website first for the correct part:

http://www.bmcairfilters.co.uk/eng/car-filters/fb156-01/37/art

I suggest you check with ECP to confirm if this is the same part you have ordered (I suspect not). As you can see from the BMC and Design911 websites, the filter design is not rectangular. Hope that helps.
