Unrecorded GR 996 GT3 via Copart; LX53NRN Updated!

@lasource - agreed the damage isn't that extensive- but how did it end up on copart? Your buddy who bent it when you were in the passenger seat just took the Insurance money and the insurers stuck it on copart I guess?

As someone else has said if more detail were known about who actually repaired it that could make a big difference to the saleability and confidence people have in the car. I don't know of any specialist in brighton that the person who bought it - Emily - referred to in her post.

Yes the car was inspected, a repair was feasible, however the insurer and insured came to an agreement which worked well for both sides.

imv, the car was perfectly repairable and if done properly should be next to indistinguishable from a normal car. Prospective buyers should inspect of course to confirm all that. Even if corners have been cut, they can be redone (notwithstanding the cost of doing so).

As posted earlier, the copart pictures are deceptive since lots of panels and lights etc have been removed for inspection. The only real impact was left rear corner (front left was surface level only)

From a structural perspective that crash damage is nothing T, the trouble is once you add up only a few parts from Porsche the Insurance bill sky-rockets. I know of a 993 that my friend crashed and the damage was similar to this car and the bill came to €45,000. In Germany the Insurance companies seem to work against themselves. I had somebody reverse into my parked car once and the Insurance assessment came in at €13,000. I took the 70% they offer instead and fixed it myself for €700 and pocketed nearly 10K. It is a crazy system over here. I'm sure in the UK they do everything within their power to lower the bill.

Totally. Actually very similar in the uk.

I wouldn't knock the Insurance companies here - they can be very helpful and understanding in the event of a mishap but as you mention above, the numbers can add up!

Have I got that right T? :floor:

of the choice standard colour Guards Red CS's 996.2 GT3's are fewer in number than Speed Yellow, thus there is a slight premium

although the SY cars are known to be quicker[/quote]

If i was to buy all of the yellow ones and burn them all, could i influence the market price for yellows :?:

agreed. love the console and rear seat backs as done that on mine.

i think its the cage that's makes it a bit too yellow. ease to solve

:D :D A full face helmet would sort that out limiting both peripheral vision and glare...... 8)

Pip :p

clearly the market is already having as a dip as the dealer has slashed off £10k off the price to now a mere £74,995, but still £00's overpriced

end of month special with another £5k off

at this rate it might get to a realistic price by xmas

Reading the advert in isolation you'd assume that the seller was being honest and open in their description.

Shame, it's a gorgeous looking car.

And £5,000 on top of the price 6 months ago... lol
