I have finally got to sorting my airbag faults

With the durametric plugged in I am getting the following

37 - Belt Tensioner - Drivers
38 - Belt Tensioner - Passengers
56 - Side Airbag Sensor - Passenger
53 - Side Airbag Sensor - Driver.

Going to take the door panels off tonight to take a look, has anyone got an upto date diagnosis manual as the one in the FAQ is for the 996.1 and I have the 996.2

Hoping to find that it's fuses on the seat belt tensioners and faulty sensors and not missing airbags....

It would seem very unlikely that all 4 have issues - I would be looking for a common link between everything.
 
I have to agree .. unless someone has been unplugging each connection and either leaveing them unplugged or not pushing the orange tab home then it seems strange .

Common item would be the airbag control unit mounted in the center consol on the tunnel .

Be carefull testing an air bag system .. no ohms checks with airbags or cu connected .. proper way is a tool to connect into each airbag and clear the code .. its a resistor basically .
 
The faults have been there since I have owned the car but only just showing as the airbag ecu had an internal fault.

1st job was to swap out the airbag ecu has that was faulty with an internal fault.

Now I finally have a durametric I am not relying on the local specialist to resolve the next steps.

Made a start today but can't work out where to find the sensors or pull the trim apart to get at the seatbelt.

Just to confirm here .. you have replaced the airbag cu ? if so did you code it and lock it to the car .. if not then that needs doing as it wont work .

Side airbags are behind the door cards .. theres an orange tab on a green connection that must be pushed fully home or it will short the pins and give a fault code.

Tensioners and you need to remove the rear quarter panel to get at the same plug on the seat belt reel.

Thanks for the heads up, instead of investigating I took it to the local specialist.

They coded the airbag ecu and all faults gone.

Feels unusual to not have the light on.....
