Fuel Consumption - 997.1 Turbo

So as promised, an update to what seems to have been causing this problem. The gasket from the Turbo to the manifold has seem to have failed - This has caused a leak which has in time developed and got bigger - I found this out after the car started sounding like a Ford transit on acceleration randomly on the weekend!

Stuck it on the ramp and exhaust gases were visibly leaking. Simple fix but will be time consuming!

Will update the thread again once I have it all sorted and reset the MPG reader to see if this was the culpret!

I think the turbos were removed and refitted on your car last winter, so shouldn't have any issues with corroded bolts

Only one side turbo was removed but all bolts and studs and nuts were removed/replaced and done with anti seize so they should come off easily, should be about an hours work.

Cheers Nick, do you remember if it was the offside or nearside that got removed as the Nearside has the leak? (passenger side)

Any idea on the torque settings for the manifold/turbo gaskets?
