Hi all,

Just having this done as I type, don't know if this is bad or not? Does anyone have any pics of theres?? Also having the front end tidied up at the same time and the headlight washer jets removed (as to me they spoil the lines :) )

I will update you when its done!

Cheers
Lig.

Hi Lig,

A couple of pics of my scuttles for you. I only had a small rust bubble on the LHS, it was caused by a windscreen change I had done in Q8 were I believe they caught the metal when cutting out the old screen and not touching up the area before fitting the new screen. Although the bubble is small you can see the rust had spread although it was only surface and cleaned up well.

The body shop I used here in Spain were able to remove and refit my screen without damage. Also no squeaks either :D

ATB :)

Hi Decgraham and thanks for the pics...

Mine doesn't look too different to yours.... I 'think' if caught early enough then yes it can be treated, although one body shop told me it will just come back if treated so they always cut out the bad and weld in a new piece!! Seems a bit extreme... but I guess only time will tell as I have had mine treated too.

Cheers,
Lig.

This was mine which was cleaned up and treated but you should have seen the rear screen with no visible evidence

Scuttle repair

This was mine. It was sandblasted, treated with fe123 and then epoxy primed etc! 2 years down the line and as good as the day it was done!

Had my front and back screens done earlier this year. Front needed some cutting and welding. Also had the chassis legs done at the same time - even more cutting and welding!
However, all for a remarkably modest price. For anyone in the northwest, I can recommend Neil Rainger in Knowsley. quality work from a one-man band.

Duh, posted pics in reverse order...

Anyone know if Neil Rainger is still trading and best way to get hold of him ?

Have been there and done that with a 964.

Definitely prefer looking at the afters. :thumb:
