.......... to sell my 993. I thought I would post about it here first before I make an advert in the appropriate forum. If anyone is interested or wants further information please PM me.

I am asking £39.5K o.v.n.o.

1995 (N reg) non vario C4, first registered 1st August 1995 which I have owned for nearly ten years. I bought it with 66.5k miles on the clock and it now has 106k miles.

It was bought from 911Virgin in Uxbridge, a dealer that has a very good reputation for selling good Porsches and which had been sold by them in the past.

The colour is Aventura with black interior and it comes with hard back sport seats and has extended leather to door cards, dash top, etc. It has the original Sony Hi-Fi with a CD stacking system.

It has a sun roof but no air-con and has a Thatcham Cat 1 immobiliser with two keys and fobs. As normal it comes with power steering, ABS brakes, twin airbags, electric windows and door mirrors, ABD stability control.
It has 17inch Cup wheels that are two tone, Basalt Black for the spokes and silver for the outer rim which look very smart, it was a 'nod" by me to the Fuch wheels of the past.

The centre of the rear spoiler has been colour coded with the Basalt Black of the wheels and the spoiler bearing replaced.

The brake callipers have been completely refurbished and are now painted red. The suspension has been sorted and it now runs on Bilstein HDs at normal factory ride height and the car was given a 4 wheel alignment and balance in August 2015 which was carried out by Jaz.

The exhaust boxes have been converted to RSRs, it also has a Sports Air Box and the tail pipes have been changed to large ovals and the car also benefits from a short shift gear change.

Both the rear and front screens have been replaced and what scuttle rust there was has been repaired.

The rear chassis legs have been sorted at some expense as the engine needed to be dropped and I have photographic evidence to show the work in various stages of the repair and for the last three years since that work was completed the car has been stored over the winter months in a climate controlled storage facility.

The car has been service annually by a Porsche specialist, mostly by Steve Winter at Jaz and a lot of the bodywork, some minor cosmetic and the chassis leg problem have been done by Sam at Impact in West Sussex.

Most of the lenses front and rear have been replaced (also HIDs on the front headlights) and the front fogs have been replaced with air ducts with small spot lights and colour coded to the bumper.

The bonnet struts front and back have been replaced.
I have an extensive folder of bills and receipts plus most of the old MOTs and have an easy read two page log of the all the work that has been carried by me and an also by previous owners.

My thought was to be the custodian of the car for ten years until retirement. I am now retired and I am hoping to move away from London to the Isle of Wight where to be honest I would rather not keep the 993, salt air and uninspiring roads. Also I have never owned a soft top sports car and my hope is to own one, hopefully a Porsche Boxster before the Grim Reaped comes a knocking on my door.

Hard to argue with the logic there. I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a buyer, but good luck with it all the same.

Good luck Andy. Good cars don't hang around. I'm sure yours will be snapped up in no time.

Nothing useful to add but I just wanted to say that sounds like a very sorted car at a very realistic price. Good luck with the sale.

Enjoy your retirement. :thumb:

Sad news. Don't wait too long for a replacement.

...........and so long as we don't lose you off here Andy, that would be sad news mate :thumb:

Tough decision, but if the time feels right... GLWTS i'm sure it'll not hang around for long

Best of luck Andy, I'm sure you will be back in a Porsche when you are settled.

....... Thanks guys for the good wishes ...... I really do hope my car goes to a good home of a real 993 enthusiast.

I can just imagine you wafting round the IOW in a 914 :)

Any prospective owner should know that this car comes ready-equipped with sandals, beard and Kenny Rogers lookalike. 😀

A well cared-for car - good luck with the sale Andy.

GLWS Andy.
Someone will get a good sorted car at a good price.

that's a great price for a 2wd manual 993 with the amount of work you've had done to get it in fine fettle.

Someone's in for a treat. GLWS!

........ It's a C4 ....... :)

Andy - very sad news that the old girl is going, but your reasoning cannot be faulted ..

Having driven with you and seen your car on a few trips now, I can testify that your car is very sorted with thoughtful modifications and to me a real looker - someone is going to get an amazing car for very sensible money.

Good luck with the sale - I'm sure it won't hang around for long!

And now that Boxter itch just has to be scratched!!
