I have a Boxster 987 with a couple of issues, so I've just had a quote from a Porsche specialist in Cheltenham to have the Sparks, Coil packs and break discs replaced and they're suggesting it would be about £1,400 for the lot, possibly higher.

This seams expensive to me, but as I'm relatively new to the Porsche scene I don't have any idea if this is about right or not?

I was expecting around £900 as these are quite easy jobs.

They're having a laugh mate. Personally I'd get those jobs done by any local mechanic as they're not 'specialist' jobs.

thats a good idea, I'll ring a local mechanic now and see what they can quote.

Thank you

Local garage estimated £750 for all of it, and that was for everything which he thinks it might not need.

Would never have thought to ask a local garage, if I can get the work done properly for that price then I'm buying you drink!!

They're quite easy jobs that even a basic DIYer could do.
