Why the 996 Generation Porsche 911 Will Never Be Collectible

He's a motoring journalist (therefore invariably wrong) and a 'long time' member of the Porsche Club of America (therefore crusty, old, grumpy and jealously guarding the establishment view as he is compelled to do). He's clearly agitated that the wider world may be making their own choices and not following the traditionalists opinion rules obediently. Dogmatic traditionalists like this gentleman have their dozen or so protocols or absolutes that must be adhered to as they, the carriers of the sacred torch of true Porsche opinion have laid down. It can only be a good sign for 996 owners that this individual is so agitated and upset. He's clearly getting concerned that once again, he's about to proved completely wrong and these uncouth news uneducated entrants into the Porsche world of ownership are not playing the game as he has declared it. And Porsche people wonder why Porsche people have such a bad reputation!

When I had my Carrera 2 964 the press couldn't stop slagging the cars off. Now they fawn over 964s almost as much as they do 993s.

You've got to remember they are journalists so will do anything for an article to get published.
