Hi Everyone, first post
I am based in Scotland but am looking to buy a Carrera 4S which is near to Stevenage. Due in part to the distance I want to get a full inspection done prior to buying. Can anyone recommend a good Engineer or company who can do this at the owners premises. Prefer not a general Engineer but a Porsche specialist
Thanks

Never used the company in the URL link. But it seems they travel out to the car for the inspection. This is going to be thorough but never as thorough as an inspection done with the car hoisted up in the air on a ramp.

If you can find a specialist that the seller is willing to take it to, that would be the first choice. If not, then a mobile inspection will give you a good idea of the status of the car.

In addition to a download and interrogation of the ECU, ask for a thorough examination of the car for bodywork repairs and accident damage - a paint depth gauge if used can tell a lot as well as line-of-sight assessment and panel gaps.

JZM and Jaz are both about half an hour away.

OPC Hatfield is only 11 miles and might be your best bet. :dont know:

Agree, OPC Hatfield looks a good choice - get the 111-point inspection.
It will throw up non standard items but that is a judgement issue for battery, wipers, tyres etc. But includes bodywork check and ECU data interrogation.

The buyer will need to drop it off at OPC and wait whilst the inspection is carried out. The report will not (and must not) be shared with the seller - it is the buyer commissioning the inspection to whom the report belongs.

You can also follow up with a phone call to talk to the technician or shop floor manager for some feedback. You will get an email with a proper report attached. It wont give you the cost of any remedial work - unless you ask or request it in the post inspection phone call.
