Blimey, my car has only 41k on the clock but wouldnt even think of charging £65k. Where do they get the numbers from these days??!!! And with tan leather

I actually like the tan leather. To each his own! And by the way, are you a seller of yours at £55?? ;)

It's showing on the dealer website as 'reserved'. Is that for you :?:

Looks like a very nice car but at £65k it should be.

Yes, that's me. But we haven't takes price yet! What do you experts think I should offer?

I would have thought £60K but I've just seen another with the same mileage the they are also asking £65K for it.

My comment was bit tongue in cheek as there's several below average mileage cars around for that price (and a lot more !!). That said, most of those are at recognised Porsche specialists.

The tan interior does look classy but isn't universally loved so I'd start bidding at £62k and expect to meet somewhere in the middle.

Going back to your original question ........ Sports Chrono, Heated Seats and Cruise Control weren't standard on these cars but everything else in the ad seems to be.

Good luck :thumb:

ps. :welcome: to 911uk

good luck

I hope the car turns out what your after ,enjoy :thumb:

Took a close look at the car this morning. It's even more pristine than it looked in the pics. Really in immaculate cosmetic shape. The prior owner, to ready it for sale, recently put in a good £3500 in new brakes, tyres, spark plugs, etc. I drove it for a good 20-30 minutes and fell in love instantly. What a car!
I made a larger deposit subject to a Porsche PPI, which the seller was more than comfortable with. The closest Porsche center is the one in Chiswick (Porsche of West London). Does anyone have any experience with them, good or bad? Also, in regards to the PPI, anything to be mindful of/ensure is covered (i.e. Anything I should request especially)? Again many thanks for the comments and advice so far

As it's a standard car just ask them to check what it would need for it to get an OPC warranty.

In 90 days (or later if the dealer warranty is worthwhile) you'd be able to buy one.

Thanks. That's very helpful.

I hope the PPI goes well for you. Mezger turbo with a manual gearbox is rare. Then add-in low mileage and it becomes even more desirable.

The tan leather interior goes out the window because you have such a tiny narrow choice of finding such a vehicle. You quite like it, I like it. If someone doesn't, they could be looking a long time for an interior colour of their choice or an interior they could live with for a low mileage 997 turbo with the coveted manual gearbox and a seller who has throw £3.5k into the vehicle prior to sale.

The PPI is aimed at assessing the car for an OPC warranty. But you'll need to wait 90 days and have it done again if you want the OPC warranty. This first PPI is only valid 7 days but will give you a good view on the state of the car and you can use the 90 day wait period to act on anything they highlight - which you'll have to do anyway in 90 days.

Good luck with the purchase.

Thank you for this reassuring post. Helpful to understand how exactly a Porsche PPI works and what it is then able to be used for. In my case, I primarily want to ensure there's no major red flag with the car. I am not sure yet whether I will look to buy a warranty at all and instead just sort of self-insure by putting that money and other funds aside. Any strong views on warranty or not? I figured by ten years and 35k miles most of the major disastrous issues would have surfaced but perhaps I am too optimistic?

In my opinion, I think you are being optimistic. The Turbo is a high maintenance car and was a £100k+ car when new. Things break, things wear, and the bills can be eye-watering expensive. Look up T8's post on his warranty when bought his 997 Turbo.

I don't know the exclusions in an OPC warranty, but as warranty's go, I'd guess its the best out there.

You could set a sum of money aside of course or keep a slush fund of £2k each year. Its your choice at the end of the day. Maybe others who do/do not have an OPC warranty may share their experience two years post purchase of repairs and costs?

"Maybe others who do/do not have an OPC warranty may share their experience two years post purchase of repairs and costs?"

It just so happens I have been compiling the service and maintenance record of my 2007 997T earlier today in case I decide to sell it..... putting all the details in Excel.... that sort of thing.

I bought the one owner car in May 2013 and in 4 years have spent just over £11k on servicing and maintenance; including warranty costs after the second year of ownership. The warranty is currently in place until May 2018 so that skews the 4 year view of costs a little bit. Costs have included a new clutch a month ago (@43k miles). New front brakes and discs a couple of years ago. New tyres all round, MOTs etc. Has the warranty paid for itself? Perhaps it's broken even, new starter motor, new compressor, new CD changer, new radiator.... nothing major..... oh and all serviced at my local OPC.

Overall, I think it has been pretty reasonable.....

Hey guys, just a quick update and request for more advice!

I finally got through to Porsche of West London, and they aren't taking any bookings until June 21! I have to say, I haven't been impressed as they also told me three times they would call me back and didn't. I had to call multiple times and wait on hold just for someone to tell me to F off, basically, as the 21st is way too late not only for me but also for the seller.

So, what to do. I have called Porsche of Guildford as well, who also promised to call me back because all "technicians are busy." I am wondering if anyone would advise me to go for an Indy PPI? One that was recommended, admittedly by the seller, is Porsche Torque (http://www.porsche-torque.co.uk/). Does anyone have any experience with them? Or any other third-party providers for a sanity check?

many thanks, yet again.
