Wheel update!
LMs centres are painted and lacquered. Porsche Agate Grey is looking to be as good as I hoped. Heavy pearl means that it changes from dark grey to almost non-metallic slate grey in direct sunlight. Thought I’d drag them out into the sun to show you what I mean!
Just need a wet-sand with 3000 grit or a polishing compound to be perfect.
The wheel lips are proving less successful. Even with Britemax easy Cut im struggling to get rid of all of the marks. Annoying, as I kept my wheels in good order, but failed to fully clean them after the run-back form the bodyshop on salty roads
Im going to have to resort to hand drill with sisal mops and polishing compounds. Lets see how this weekend goes…

Thanks guys
Got the split rim bolts soaking in Coke to clean them up a bit.
Managed to polish two wheels yesterday, with a combination of polishing soaps and Britemax with sisal mops. Not looking too bad, just a bit more hand polishing with Final Shine should do the trick.

Looking good Mark, pleased to see they came out well
Know what you mean about polishing. Years ago I was doing a set every few months. Its been ages now and I forgot how boring it was!

Following Fueled Society @ Harewood Hillclimb, Leeds this weekend I’ve finally had a chance to take a few photos of the 964 with the refurbed rear lights and wheels fitted. Only just got the car back together for the show.
Apologies for iPhone photos. Will look for some better ones!
Wheels just need more sunlight for the colour to brighten

Out on the show circuit already boyz!
Good effort
I think I'm going to buy one of those mops, my paints looking a bit swirly.
Actually, maybe I should just get someone who knows what they're doing to sort it
Anyway Chris, wheels look snazzy _________________ - 964 C2 The Red Baron - 914 2.0 Project Blue Book - Cayman S Sport Edition Amber Alert! -

Keep me posted if you want an idea of what to buy to start you down the slippery slope of polishing Chief

Too kind gents
For every one person who likes the car there are 10 who shake their head, just not getting it. Easy to change back to standard tho, and I wouldn't have it any other way

Simples, but time consuming.
1.Get the paint smooth and free from contaminants - spray with tar remover and decontaminant remover, then clay bar.
2. Get as many scratches out as you can and shine paint using three or two stage machine polish.
3. Hide the rest using a filling compound
4. The real trick, apply a deep wet look "show" wax, with a life of about 2 weeks. Some people go for bright shine, I like a wet look wax

Jesus!
Forget it, I'll live with my clean and bug free
I think I can modify and rebuild a 'Chief' project quicker than trying to achieve that Chris. As they say "I'll get my coat". _________________ - 964 C2 The Red Baron - 914 2.0 Project Blue Book - Cayman S Sport Edition Amber Alert! -
