Big Motoring World in Kent

Hi All

I am looking to buy a Golf GTD for my wife and I see some very compelling deals at https://www.bigmotoringworld.co.uk/.

Some of the prices appear to be too good to be true... which is usually an alarm bell. But sometimes in life there isn't a hidden agenda.

Has anyone from Kent or indeed anywhere else heard of them?

Thx

They are a big company they buy in volume and therefore they can pass on savings I understand.

They buy up a lot of the basic spec ex-lease stuff and price them keenly so if that's what you want then go for it. Customer service is average but at the end of the day price is what matters most for people. 2 of my friends have bought from there, they're not petrolheads and just wanted something to drive around in, cars have been fine so far.

I don't think they get very good reviews generally (cannot remember where they were discussed last PH or one of the BMW forums). I popped in to see them a few years back when looking for a e46 M3/CSL and was not very impressed with their attitude so gave them a miss - think Arthur Daley complete with sheepskin coat.

I seem to remember a salesman there telling someone else if he wants to take the car on a test drive they consider it sold. I am not sure the full context of this statement but I know how I would take that.

Good luck.

Pip

Quite funny reading the bad reviews as most seem to be responded to with:-

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for your comments. We have looked on our systems and we have no record of you being in contact with us or visiting any of our sites. It would be very helpful if you could provide us with more information to look into the matter further- please contact me (Amelia in Marketing) on 01634 244211.

I will be interesting to hear a fellow Porsche owner's feedback from them.

My Dad went to look at an X5.

Travelling down from Suffolk, so wanted to make sure it was still there and called to check, when he was assured it was.

When he turned up, no X5's in stock - 'but we have lots of other cars you may be interested in...'

Moral of the story is just because it is on their website or they tell you it is there, you can't assume it will be.

That being said, my brother in law bought a 1-series for a good price. Just don't expect main dealer/specialist levels of service or prep.

Ultimately though, if the price is right... Test drive is not on the table though unless you have committed.

I'd been led to believe that they were basically little different to places like Car Giant. Piled high and sold cheap in supermarket style with stock of varying standards, but you have at least as much chance of finding a good car at near trade price as you would at an auction. So if you know what you are after they might well be worth a look :?:
