If you're not concerned with keeping the car as an investment then I'd have to recommend the 996tt, I had similar choices to make as you and ended up with the 996t.I'm now in a stage where I don't want to put too many miles on the car (10k in my first year) as my viewpoint of the car has changed from a daily to a slight investment... I'm disappointed in myself for doing so, and I'm trying to combat that mindset.
The car is fast, comfy, special yet doesn't attract too much attention due to its age. I love the car, I just wish I was happier putting 12k miles a year on it.
