Worth pointing out to Wicked that the underside of lid also needs coating, as it is visible when opened. Mine is a bit patchy as they focused on coating the top of lid. However, you do not want the cogs coated, as the extra surface may prevent it opening smoothly. Hope that helps!

Also, is that the best match for the door handles ?
Yes it is GT silver with satin lacquer.
The door handles are the same colour and finish as the thin trim piece underneath the gear lever gaiter. The colour is a very close match but the handles are more of a glossy finish.
Do the 997 consoles have the sound deadening material underneath, what do you do with that?

Actually, I think i may as well take out the metal retainers, but what do you do about the ashtray lid cogs?
Cheers!

Jibaro said:I've had to give up on separating the ashtray lid, I'm sure I was gunna snap something, I'll get them to mask the cogs and everything off. It's a bit involved stripping it all down isn't it, I will have to allow myself half a day or more to reassemble and get back in the car, and hope I don't scratch the thing to pieces doing it
