Just finished a service asked my Indy to check the cooling fans as I did not think they were working fully he tested both and said neither work and will require replacing

However when the aircon is on there is a fan running on the driver side

Question how are the fans on a 996.1 C2 set up ?

A/c will switch the fans on at low speed , if one side inop then its probably the fan resistor , you can see a metal tube if you look at the fan .

High speed and its the dme that switches it and its approx 105 degrees .

The resistors are the common point of failure though .

As already said likely the resistors at fault and they are an easy fix luckily :thumb:
Replaced mine recently
