Hi everyone, looking at ultraleggara 19" for my 997 turbo but rear has a 12 rear wheel and mine are 11". will 305 rear section still fit or do I need a larger rear section tyre?

You'll need 325's on a 12J wheel.

Thought as much Ade
Thanks very much

No you don't. 997 GT3s have 12J rears and 305 tyres as standard. The only catch with the 12J is that you can't put winters on them as they only go up to 295 and that really is stretching it too far.

I have a 996 turbo with 12 rear OZs and run 305 section tyres with no issue

Everyone sure now?

Quite sure - as I said : Porsche shipped several 997s with 12J wheels. The 997.1 GT3, 997.2 GT3 and 997.1 GT3 RS have 305 tyres as factory fit whereas the 997.2 GT3 RS, 997 4.0 RS, GT2 and GT2 RS have the 325. The most noteworthy of those to you is the 997.1 GT3 RS as that has the same bodywork and offsets as your Turbo so you can be confident of no fitting issues.

Ergo you can quite happily use either tyre size on a 12J rim as far as Porsche are concerned, and that is certainly good enough for me. :thumb:

Cheers Colin, that's good enough for me mate 👍
