Becker Cascade Pro incoming, compatibility conundrum

The firmware CD that I got with the head-unit says "5.0" on it, would anyone know if this is a high enough level for the unit to recognise CF cards larger than 2GB in size? Also, can this level be updated via CF card alone, or does it require a CD-rom?
 
With huge thanks to John I now have 2017 maps running on the (close to) OEM navigation unit in my 1998 911.

I also treated myself to the Porsche brolly which is now tucked away in the passenger cill storage bin.

Now, how to sort out my fogged and swirled rear window ahead of summer arriving?
