RANT ALERT
It seems only a year or so ago I did a thread about how good AF Insurance were, particularly for modded cars and multi car.
I received my renewal reminder in Dec from them. '...blah blah.. both cars (boxster and modded turbo) will continue to be insured for £983/y and we will take payment as planned.... you don't have to do anything....'
Great I thought. I'm happy with that and can't be bothered to look around this year, plus its very similar to what I was paying last year.
Yesterday I was followed to work (in the boxster) very closely by a police van who was mirroring my actions, even going the incorrect way to my destination to see if they were indeed tailing me. In the end they drove off but it put the wind up me so i decided to check my Insurance last night.
On the AF online portal it shows I have paid for my Insurance as planned, but only the turbo is insured, not the boxster!
I ring AF up today 'yeah, sorry sir, we no longer do Porsche multi car policies so split the policy and only insured the turbo...'
No notification of this was given whatsoever so I've been driving around in an uninsured car for the past week!
'we can provide you with a new quote for the boxster, but it won't be on a multicar policy........tip tap tip tap on keyboard...... so thats £1940 for the boxster with £700 excess....and this doesn't include the £900+ for the turbo... Do you want to go for that?'
So nearly £3k to insure both cars now as well????? c:
Needless to say I've rung Bridal up (winner of the 911uk best Insurance) and am waiting for them to quote me.
Fuming.
:x
