Hi all recently read that there's a procedure for resetting adaptions for throttle but guessing that's for the electronic throttle.... is there any procedure for the old cable throttle version that may reset throttle position sensor or something as I understand it's a cable throttle so nothing to reset in that way but is there something similar? No problems just curious as would like to try it if there is a way...? Thanks Ricky

I,m not sure on this .. there is no throttle adaption as its hard wired but there is an adaption for the fueling , again not sure but the usual way to reset the adaptions would be to clear a fault code .. if no fault and you wanted to reset then you would need to induce one .. ie pull the maf sensor and start , eml on and then clear it with a fault code reader .

Not sure why you would want to do this though as adaptions to fueling are a result of wear and tear and the car is doing its best to give best performance .

Pulling a battery lead wont reset fuel adaptions .

Btw .. your number plate has fallen off and you have a strange bar on your steering wheel :D

Just based on what I read that the throttle gets lazy over time so people reset the throttle adaptions with turning the ignition on then off for so many seconds then off etc but guessing this won't do anything for cable throttle, the bar was more of a visual deterant as was getting a new garage door so couldn't get it in the garage for few days, as for the plate had the bumper repainted and smoothed over the 2 holes, have now got a nice tiny sticker reg plate on it 😎

Aghh i thought i couldnt see the holes .. thats why then !

For electronic throttle then yes it can be reset .. a cable then its a mechanical adjustment not electronic and so no reset.

Its only for idle anyways .. i would say wip the airbox out and clean the throttle with a rag .. often gets gumed up and will lower the idle .
