My Red 964 C4 - The Next Chapter

Hi Keith, you'll be happy when you get your re-spray done. Just hope it sticks to your time frame ( not like Petes!!) you need to get some progress pics up to keep us going during the dark nights.

Mike, the seats are standard from Recaro, it was about a 6 week lead time for them to be made, and about 6 weeks for me to get them fitted lol. They have been something on my want list since buying the car, I'm now thinking of a nice half cage painted guards red to set the interior off nicely.

However, i fear, an engine rebuild is now on the cards

Half cage, what half cage are you thinking? I believe some just use the rear seat belt anchor points right? Painted red would look the part.

Engine rebuild sounds expensive, and I guess it may be a case of 'whilst you're in there'....!

Bolt in cage will be the way I go. There are two I've seen, can't remember the make at the moment, or might make one myself.

evening folks.
been a bit quiet of late so i thought i'd post an update.

the 964 is currently undergoing engine surgery. complete rebuild, nothing fancy, just back to original spec the way it left the factory 193K and 27years ago.

very happy to report the internals were in very good condition, just the normal expected wear and tear.
So the plan is for everything to be rebuilt and back on the road for our PCGB open day over here on the 10th June.

and with all this engine work being done, I've decided to upgrade the anti theft device....

Meet Dumbledore, my new head of security 8)

As much as I like looking at cars and engines, Dumbledore does it for me!
A more finer head of security you surely will not find

You are certainly taking good care of our car Mike  , great to see that work being done , nice GS pup too , what happened to your lab ? , we lost one of our dogs a few months back , I always said I would have a guard dog type when he went , we are considering a Rottweiler next. Keith

trying to do the best for our car Keith as always :D
Fred, our oldest Lab passed away before Christmas but we still have mad dog Barney to show the new pup all the tricks of the trade!

Don't let the pup on the pole positions :thumb:

Hi Mick,

Dumbledore is a beauty, the Pork's looking good too :thumb:

Cheers,
Paul

I knew I'd done the right thing, letting you take care of her.

Looking good.

I'll have to update my blue thread.

so the full engine rebuild is complete and i'm enjoying running it in over the past 2 weeks. Really impressed with the results, the engine just pulls like a train and feels far more responsive than before Here's to another 190,000miles :D :D :D

Head of security is growing rapidly and wont fit the passenger seat for much longer , car looks epic in those pictures Mike , such a head turner , I will have to start saving for mine as the miles are piling on however I'm interested to see just how far it goes, well done with all the work you've had done , car should be tip top now :)
Keith

That looks really good. Have you lowered it, or is it an optical illusion caused by the black wheels.

The engine looks amazing clean. Have you had it soda blasted?

yes Pete, everything was blasted and came up like new, shame you cant see it when it's back in the car.
I'm running Bilsteins with H&R turbo springs set around rs ride height.

Keith, you must have won the high millage award by now!

Been a bit too long since i updated things here!
The 964 has been off the road for the winter, but finally roared back into life today for the first club drive of the year with PCGBR27.
The new OPC Belfast wasn't a bad place to start the day
