TPC Racing DSC module ...

No problem. Guess i was over on the price so now £700 and dropping!. The three mode was only dropped because folk didnt like the flashing light (didnt bother me at all) and the dash graphic.

Thing is mode 1 is so useless that folk see only two modes. Anyway try yours and if you find one of the modes rubbish then try mine but your running 911 turbo so maybe my mapping is too far away.

Cheers Legin - I didn't realise you'd dropped it to £700! Oh well - never mind!

I'll let you know how I get on with the modes, and thanks for the offer of your custom maps, I may well take you up on that offer if I don't get on with the pre-programmed maps :thumb:

I've had one fitted for well over a year now.
My car is a 997.1 C4S so I had to also fit a 3G accelerometer which just involves splicing a couple of wires into the main ECU wiring loom. Turbo models already have this fitted as standard as do the gen 2 models.

The difference is quite noticeable on any of the 3 settings.
The range of the suspension travel increases, without compromising cornering or braking in any way.
Setting 1 I rarely use as I find it a bit too soft and wallowing but is useful on very poor roads or farm tracks !
Setting 2 is the norm for me, very much like the normal standard setting but much more compliant ( like having a range of 3 to 8 instead of a 5 to 7 range ) if that makes sense. If you brake really hard from high speed the nose diving attitude of the car is all but eliminated. Less roll on corners and more comfortable on rough roads.......it really hugs the road better.
Setting 3 is the stiffest setting equal to the sport setting of standard, but totally usable on public roads unlike the standard car setup which is totally unusable on public roads.
Once again the range is extended like from 5 to 10 instead of 8 to 10.

This setting I've used on the track and it just seems to get you in and out of corners faster and under more control even if your not a great driver, like me !

My car setup is standard apart from non N rated Michelin Super Sports.
The only downside really is the cost of the unit, but I would buy it again.

At some point I may buy the DSC suspension kit to go with it, again that's a little pricey at about $8000, hard to justify for my use.

All in all a very good and subtle mod and would probably work very well with lowered springs taking some of the bumpiness out of the ride and keeping the wheels firmly in contact with the road.

If you want to try my mapping your welcome. Your mode 1 will be transformed from the wallow into a useable mode. 2 and 3 will be more subtle changes but you can pick and mix.

Sorry all for cocked up reply.
Legin I'd be more than happy to try your mapping.
PM details if you wish.

UPDATE:

Received the DSC module from TPC (FedEx'd from the US) last week - installed in the car (10 minute job) and have now given the module a decent evaluation;

It's a great device; hugely more responsive than the stock PASM controller; no more front-end dive on braking, keeps the car flat in the twisties, Normal mode is no longer 'wallowy', and Sport mode is no longer like having concrete shocks - both modes are now very usable on the sh!tty UK roads.

The stock PASM controller is too binary; either too soft or too hard with no inbetween - but the DSC module is the 'Goldilocks' device; just right. It's transformed the car for me ... highly recommended!

Another fan of the DSC module here. I fitted mine on Monday and just cant believe the difference its made to the cars handling. This is how the 997 turbo should have handled from the factory. Its so planted, comfortable, smooth, responsive and tight now. Sport setting is slightly firmer but not rock solid so you could easily use either setting on a daily basis on bumpy B roads.

My standard stock car before hand borderlined on being undriveable. Normal mode was so bouncy and wallowy it felt like the shocks were completely knackered. I nearly felt sea sick driving it. And yet sport mode was so rock solid it would rattle your spine.

Interesting that you describe the module as improve comfort and ride over the standard in normal setting I would have expected that it would improve handling but not ride comfort.

They code it so that its softer when going in a straight line and then it stiffens up when you need it, cornering, braking, accelerating.

Thats where the additional comfort comes from.

I had one on my 997 GTS. Its great, would get one for the 991 but too much hassle to replace if its going in for service.

Regards
Gary

Comfort wise, it just seems to absorb all the bumps on my local B roads much better. All the bouncyness is gone. Where as before it would just buck around like a rodeo horse. Even cruising at 70 on a smooth(ish) dual carriageway I notice a much better ride quality.

Can anyone comment on price for the unit and 3 axis accelerometer?
How easy is fitting and what's involved plse?

Interesting. It's curious that suspension mods are now done by software and not by re-rating springs, dampers, bushes etc. I'll be putting this on the wish list.

It's a marvellous device - makes a huge difference.

I'm very happy with the suspension set-up on my turbo now; DSC module + TechArt lowering springs with the stock PASM shocks and a GT2 rear ARB (plus the RSS engine mounts which help with rear-end stability) have transformed the car's handling no end.
